Your Destination —
Holt is a historic Georgian town in north Norfolk, surrounded by parks and beautiful nature. Here, you can explore the charming Georgian buildings, art galleries, bookshops and antique stores, all tucked away in lovely courtyards and alley ways.
Visit the marketplace in the centre of the town and see the cross memorialising the soldiers who lost their lives during the war. Take a walk along the tree-lined avenues and arrive to the 13th century church of St. Andrews. Then, follow the owl pavement plaques and wonder through Holt Owl Trail. Not far, you can enjoy Holt Country Park, made up of 100 acres of woodland with oak, pine and silver birch trees.
Hop on the Poppy Line steam train and make your way to Sheringham, where you can spend the day on the beach. Only 13 minutes away by car from Holt, you can delight in a wonderful day birdwatching at Blakeney Point. You can also see the grey seals, the country's largest population, with a quick boat ride. A trip to Norfolk would not be complete without a day of sailing in Mortson or a day of golfing at Cromer.
