Cheltenham Racecourse is rightly renowned as one of the foremost tracks in the British Isles, and for three days in March is home to the National Hunt Festival. Chepstow Racecourse is also worth a visit as it is the premier Welsh track.
The Forest of Dean and surrounding area have a fascinating and varied local history from medieval castles and abbeys, such as Raglan in the Welsh borders and Tintern Abbey, to the grandeur of Gloucester Cathedral. Renowned for its mining heritage, there is no better place to start than Clearwell Caves, within walking distance of the Tudor Farmhouse.
