Characterful, charming and completely romantic - The Dunstane Houses 5* is an independent, family-run boutique hotel split across two gorgeous Victorian townhouses.
You'll find this historical 19th century hotel just a ten-minute drive away from some of the city's key cultural attractions including Edinburgh Castle, The National Museum of Scotland and the iconic Royal Mile.
Comprising of 35 gorgeously designed bedrooms and the brilliant Ba' Bar all-day dining room and lounge, The Dunstane Houses 5* couldn't make a more befitting spot for a luxurious and cosy city retreat!

Start your journey from the Edinburgh Bus Station and travel through the beautiful Trossachs National Park, known for its association with the legendary Rob Roy. After crossing the rugged Rannoch Moor, you'll arrive at the dramatic Glen Coe, infamous for the 1692 massacre. Driving through Fort William, catch a glimpse of Ben Nevis, before entering the Great Glen.
Once in Fort Augustus, a charming Highland village, you'll have the opportunity to take a relaxing boat cruise on the loch, go for a walk, or just take in the stunning scenery by the Caledonian Canal.
As you continue your journey, pass the shimmering Loch Laggan, climb over the wild and lonely Drumochter Pass in the Cairngorms National Park, and enter Perthshire, a land of forests, rivers, and mountains. After crossing the Firth of Forth, with a stunning view of the Forth Bridges, you'll arrive back in Edinburgh around 7:45 pm.

Start your day with a spot of boutique shopping in Multrees Walk, before visiting the former medieval market square at the Grassmarket, which also offers splendid views of the Edinburgh Castle. The castle itself is a grand monument, perched on an extinct volcano, leave this monument for an afternoon visit, when you can admire the sunset over the city. Afterwards, head to the West End for chic restaurants and bars - you might even get there in time for a show at the Edinburgh Playhouse!
Arguably the best time to visit the city is in August, when the annual Fringe Festival takes over the city. The largest arts festival in the world, this is your time to catch a future star of comedy or theatre!
