The area encompasses the vast Cairngorms National Park, thick with forest-clad mountains and heather moorlands. Swathes of sand line the coast, dotted with historic fishing villages.
And Aberdeenshire isn't known as Scotland's Castle Country for nothing: the region has 19 castles including Balmoral (summer house to the Royal Family), and Dunottar. You'll have an included visit to Dunnottar Castle, which towers on crumbling cliffs above the waves.
