In the quintessential Cotswolds village of Ampney Crucis stands the boutique country inn, Wild Thyme & Honey. The inn was a 16th-century pub that has been transformed into a 24 bedroom inn, exuding charm and character. A quaint English village, a bubbling trout-filled brook and a traditional former pub make Ampney Crucis the perfect Cotswold escape.
Wild Thyme & Honey overlooks the town's bubbling brook and sits snugly with The Crown at Ampney Brook pub, and is all you need for an unforgettable countryside escape. The inn has been designed to let the idyllic countryside in to create a feeling of being immersed in nature and is based on the ethos of sharing the best of Cotswold living. Exposed Cotswold stone and natural timber cladding sit alongside a calming palette of soft greys, rich creams and inviting textiles. The inn is inspired by the honey-coloured stone and the wild thyme that grows in between and promises a memorable stay.

Waterside Suite

The inn's cosy village pub, The Crown at Ampney Brook, serves hearty farm-to-table cuisine. The menu is seasonal and is inspired by the Cotswolds countryside and the surrounding local farmers. The pub boasts a selection of seating areas, all with a great atmosphere and people-watching options! There is also a fantastic bar that offers extensive in-house cocktail creations as well as an enigmatic machine that allows you to select your own wines as a personal tasting. There is also a private dining option inside the pub and also bordering the Brook in the form of 3 igloos (minimum spend applies).

Back in Cirencester you could head to the Amphitheatre and visit the remains of one of the largest Roman amphitheatres in Britain! Venture to the remains of St Mary’s Abbey at the Abbey Grounds which makes the perfect summer walking spot with its large green space. The Cotswold Water Park is also close by where visitors can embark on an activity or simply appreciate the enchanting natural scenes here.
Picturesque Bourton-on-the-Water is also not to be missed with its low bridges, charming tea rooms and traditional stone houses. Other places to visit during your time here include the Cirencester Golf Club, Corinium Museum, Westonbirt Arboretum and the captivating village of Bilbury.
