Your Itinerary —
During their tour, our members will follow one of the itineraries as listed below.
When choosing to add car hire, your car will be collected from Manchester Airport. Following collection, make your way to Chester. On the way, we recommend either making the most of the Peak District National Park, where quaint villages such as Bakewell can be found, or the lively city of Liverpool - the birth place of The Beatles! Your day will end back in Chester, where you'll enjoy an overnight stay at the Beaufort Park Hotel or similar.
Day 2: Chester - Snowdonia - Caernarfon Castle - Snowdonia
After breakfast, journey to Snowdonia. During this day, we recommend driving along the coastline, taking a little stop off at Caernarfon Castle, where Prince Charles was crowned. Tickets to the castle are included in your trip. You'll then enjoy an overnight stay in Snowdonia at The Royal Victoria Hotel or similar.
On this day, we recommend spending your time in Snowdonia National Park, the UK's third largest national park. Taking the Snowdonia Mountain Railway is a really good way to make the most of your surroundings. Alternatively, this park offers many walking and hiking routes, while gardening lovers are sure to appreciate a trip to the Bodnant Gardens. End your day with an overnight stay in Snowdonia at The Royal Victoria Hotel or similar.
Day 4: Snowdonia - Pembrokeshire - Carmathen
On this day, you'll have the chance to explore Pembroke and Carmathen. We recommend spending the day travelling along the beautiful Welsh coastline, before stopping for an included cup of tea and slice of Welsh cake at the Two Hoots Café in Devils Bridge (in 2021 - not included with stays in 2020 due to closure following COVID-19). You'll then end your day with an overnight stay at The Falcon Hotel or similar.
On this day, we recommend exploring Pembroke and Carmathen more thoroughly. Explore the area around St. David's and visit the famous St. David's Bishop Palace, where you'll have included tickets. This area is particularly well known for offering Dolphin and Puffin-watching boat tours from May to September, which may be something you're looking to experience. End the day with an overnight stay at The Falcon Hotel or similar.
Day 6: Pembrokeshire/Carmathen - Brecon Beacons
On this day, you'll have the opportunity to drive through another one of Wales' spectacular National Parks - the Brecon Beacons. We recommend taking advantage of the Brecon Beacon Railway on this day, in order to truly soak up the beautiful scenery. Alternatively, a trip to the Penderyn Welsh Whiskey Distillery is also a fun way to spend the day. Afterwards, enjoy an overnight stay at the Llechwen Hall Hotel or similar.
On this day, you'll head to the Welsh capital - Cardiff. Here, you'll enjoy included tickets to Cardiff Castle, before you spend the rest of the day exploring the city's vibrant streets. End the day with an overnight stay at the Llechwen Hall Hotel or similar.
Day 8: Departure from Cardiff
On this day, you'll spend the morning exploring more of Cardiff's charms before you head home. Please note: Guests opting to book car hire will be required to return the car to Manchester Airport at the end of their tour.
