With typical - accidental - English irony the New Forest is anything but new: it was first proclaimed a royal hunting preserve in 1079. It's also not much of a forest, being mostly heathland ('forest' is actually from the Old French for 'hunting ground'). 

Designated a national park in 2005, the forest's combined charms make it a joy to explore. Wild ponies graze on pretty scrubland, deer jump in the distance and rare birds flit among the foliage. Here you will find a myriad of genteel villages dot the landscape, connected by a web of walking and cycling trails.

Welcome to Cottage Lodge, a charming property in the small village of Brockenhurst, at the heart of the tranquil New Forest. At this eco-friendly property, guests will be greeted by country chic in all 16 rooms, with some featuring beds made from local trees! Each room is equipped with lovely facilities and amenities, and at the end of the day make sure to curl up in the Snug Bar - housed in the original 1650s cottage of the hotel! Or, indulge at the restaurant, offering a classic British menu. You can also enjoy a personalised parking space during your stay, ideal for those renting a car to explore more of the area.

Guets can relax stress-free at this eco property, which works with local companies to reduce its own carbon footprint, including installing solar panels, offering electrical car charging points, and locally sourced bath amenities in all the rooms.
