The 5.5-mile Tolkien Trail is the perfect adventure to discover more of this beautiful countryside, and you can even visit Stonyhurst College, where Tolkien worked on The Lord of the Rings during the Second World War. Other beautiful sites to visit include the 14th-century Cistercian Abbey and Clitheroe Castle, built in 1186.
