Your Itinerary —

Day 1: Airport - Habarana
Upon your arrival at Bandaranayake International Airport, You will be warmly welcomed by a representative then escorted to your air-conditioned vehicle where you will proceed to Habarana. Dinner and overnight accommodation at Sungreen Resort and Spa or similar.

Day 2: Habarana - Minneriya - Dambulla - Habarana
After breakfast at the hotel, proceed to visit Minneriya National Park for an exciting jeep safari. Minneriya National Park is a haven for the elephants that migrate from surrounding jungles to enjoy the lush grass fields on the banks of the Minneriya reservoir, during the dry season. Reports of elephant sightings range from an impressive 100 to 200. The central feature of the park is the ancient Minneriya Tank (built in 3rd century AD byKing Mahasena). This tank is generally known as a place to observe the elephants that come to bathe and graze on the grasses as well as the huge flocks of birds that come to fish in the shallow waters. Depending on the movement of the elephant herds of the particular day the chauffeur will decide the best park to visit among Minneriya, Kaudulla and Eco-park.

Upon completion proceed to visit the Dambulla Cave Temple. Dambulla Cave Temple is a vast isolated rock mass and it was here that king Valagambahu took refuge in the 01stcentury B.C. He later turned the caves into a rock temple. Dambulla is a world heritage site and is the most impressive of Sri Lanka’s cave temples. The complex offer caves with over 2000 sq. meters of painted walls and ceiling found here are over 2000 years old and is the largest area of painting found in the world. The caves contain over 150 images of the Buddha of which the largest is the colossal figure of the Buddha carved out of rock and spanning 14 metres. Dambulla is a massive rock from the surrounding plains of Dambulla of 600 feet high which includes climbing of steps as well as walking on the plain boulder. *Not recommended for clients with Walking difficulties. Upon completion return to the hotel. Dinner and overnight accommodation at Sungreen Resort and Spa or similar.

Day 3: Habarana - Sigiriya - Matale - Kandy
After breakfast, check out from the hotel and proceed to Kandy. En Route, make a visit to Ritigala (Travel Time approx: 1 hour).

Proceed to climb the Sigiriya Rock Fortress which is known as the 8th wonder of the world. This rock fortress was built by King Kasyapa in the 5th century A.D. and was a royal citadel for more than 18 years. In a sheltered pocket, approached by a spiral stairway, are the famous frescoes. The summit of the rock, with an area of nearly one hectare, was the site of the palace and the outer wall was built on the very brink of the precipice. The UNESCO sponsored Central Cultural Fund has restored Sigiriya 5th century water gardens to their former glory. Sigiriya Rock Fortress where you could climb 1200 steps and admire the fabulous frescoes on the walls of the ancient rock fortress. This is not recommended for clients with Vertigo & walking difficulties. Upon completion proceed to visit Spice garden in Matale.

Matale is famous for its spice gardens. For centuries, spices have been one of Sri Lanka's celebrated exports. Spices are mostly grown in home gardens (as a home industry) and used not only to flavour food but also for medicine and cosmetics. On completion continue your journey to Kandy and check in to the hotel. Dinner and overnight accommodation at Tree of Life or similar.

Day 4: Kandy - Nuwara Eliya
After breakfast at the hotel, proceed to Nuwara Eliya. En-route visit the Temple of the Tooth Relic.

Kandy is a lovely city, the Hill Capital and the last stronghold of the Sinhala Kings retains an aura of grandeur, which time has not affected. Encircled by hills, with a tranquil lake in its centre, it is the site of the renowned "Temple of the Tooth". Kandy and its satellite villages are at the centre of the island’s handicraft industry and its traditional dances are the most spectacular in the country.

Visit the Temple of the Tooth Relic. It is located in the royal palace complex which houses the Relic of the tooth of Buddha. Since ancient times, the relic has played an important role in local politics because it is believed that whoever holds the relic holds the governance of the country. Kandy was the last capital of the Sinhalese kings and is a UNESCO world heritage site partly due to the temple. Upon completion continue your journey to Nuwara Eliya and check into the hotel.

Nuwara Eliya Nuwara Eliya is set in the heart of tea country. This is a beautiful town where the British succeeded in creating a replica of the English countryside, with homes in styles from Georgian to Queen Anne. Well-kept lawns with hedges, an Anglican church, a famous golf course and beautiful parks give the place an air of nostalgia. Situated 6,200 feet above sea level, the air is cool and fresh –a serene treat from the hustle and bustle of the city life. Dinner and overnight accommodation at Araliya Green Hills or similar.

Day 5: Nuwara Eliya - Yala
After breakfast, check out from the hotel and proceed to Tissamaharamaya. En route you will take a city tour of Nuwara Eliya (approximate travel time is 4-4.5 hours). Upon arrival, check in to the hotel and in the late afternoon, you will head out on a Jeep Safari at Yala National Park.

The elephant is undoubtedly the best-known attraction at Yala, seen in small and large herds. Herds of spotted deer are seen all over the park. Monkeys - the pinkish rhesus and the grey-faced Langur monkey, live and play on the treetops and the on the ground below. Wild buffalo and boar could give you a surprise. The sight of a radiant leopard sunning itself or drinking water at the waterhole would be a memorable experience. The peacock is easily the most famous of the birds at Yala. The painted stork, many varieties of heron, the spoonbill, the bee-eater, parakeets, and kingfisher are just some of the birds you can see in the park. Upon completion, return to the hotel for some time to relax. Dinner and overnight accommodation at the hotel.

Day 6: Yala - Waskaduwa
After breakfast, check out from the hotel and proceed to Waskaduwa. en route, you will visit the Dutch fort of Galle (approximate travel time from Yala to Galle: 3.5 - 4 hours).

Galle is a coastal town where the Dutch presence is still visible. Galle was an ancient port (said to be the legendary Tarshish of the Bible), and the first international commerce and trade centre. Today, Galle is the bustling provincial capital and administrative centre of the south. It is famous for its lovely Unawatuna Bay, where the sea is reef protected and therefore safe for swimming.

The old Dutch "Star Fort" (a World Heritage Site) covering 36 hectares, the well-preserved Groote Kerk (Dutch Church), Dutch Government House, the New Oriental Hotel (built in 1684) old bell tower and a tide-based Sewage-System, also introduced by the Dutch. In Galle, they still make the Dutch 'pillow-lace' and do fine ebony carving and gem polishing. Upon completion, proceed to Waskaduwa and check into the hotel. Dinner and overnight accommodation at Citrus Waskaduwa or similar.

Day 6 - 8, 10, 12: Waskaduwa
Enjoy the facilities at the hotel and spend your free days at leisure by the beach or poo. Enjoy the facilities of the hotel or head out to explore the surrounding area - this time is for you to discover Sri Lanka. Dinner and overnight accommodation at Citrus Waskaduwa or similar.

Day 9, 11 Or 13: Depart
As per the flight details you will be picked up and transferred to Colombo International Airport to catch your flight back home.

Entry Requirements
You must ensure you have a valid passport to travel on.

You will need a visa to enter Sri Lanka. You can get a short stay visa online at: Electronic Travel Authority (ETA).. Tourist visas are normally issued for a maximum period of 30 days. Although it’s still possible to get a tourist visa on arrival, it’s better to get one before you travel.

Your passport should be valid for a minimum period of 6 months from the date of entry to Sri Lanka.

Health
Visit your health professional at least 8 weeks before your trip to check whether you need any vaccinations or other preventive measures.

All regions of Sri Lanka experience outbreaks of the mosquito-borne dengue fever. The Epidemiological Unit of the Ministry of Health issued a public message on 1 May 2018. You should take steps to avoid being bitten by mosquitoes.

Please note that passport, visa and health requirements can change. It is every traveller’s responsibility to ensure they have a valid passport, any required visas, and all the necessary vaccinations/health requirements as well as adequate insurance.
