Sri Lanka is a culturally rich and environmentally diverse country, with nine World Heritage Sites (the oldest dating back to the 3rd Century BC); a colourful array of flora and fauna in 14 National Parks, and an Indian Ocean coastline boasting palm-fringed, sandy tropical beaches.
On this tour you will visit some of the island's most famous sights including Sigiriya Rock Fortress (hailed as the "8th wonder of the world") the beautiful city of Kandy with its lush, green mountain scenery and impressive temples, and Udawatta Forest - famed for both its wildlife and religious significance.
The Maldives archipelago consists of 1190 tiny islands scattered across the Indian Ocean. The atolls are composed of live coral reefs and sand bars perched atop a 960km submarine ridge, while the land features lush tropical vegetation with abundant local coconut palms.
The Maldives is renowned for its incredible diving opportunities. The crystal clear water and shallow lagoons are perfect for snorkelling, while the reef walls offer a kaleidoscope of sea life for more experienced divers.
The local culture features a lively mix of South Indian, Sinhalese and Arab influences that is reflected in the traditional music, cuisine and art of the island.
Your Itinerary —
Day 01: AIRPORT / DAMBULLA (Approx Transfer time: 3 - 4 Hours)
Arrival at Colombo International Airport on flight. Here, you will be met by a professional Chauffeur and escorted to your air conditioned vehicle, for a transfer to your hotel in Dambulla.
OVERNIGHT ACCOMMODATION AMAYA LAKE, DAMBULLA or similar
Day 02: DAMBULLA / SIGIRIYA / DAMBULLA (Approx. Transfer time: 20 - 30 Mins)
After breakfasts at the hotel proceed to Sigiriya, where you could climb the 1200 steps and admire the fabulous frescoes on the walls of the ancient rock fortress.
The Sigiriya Rock Fortress is known as the 8th wonder of the world. This rock fortress was built by King Kasyapa in the 5th century A.D. and was a royal citadel for more than 18 years. In a sheltered a pocket, approached by a spiral stairway, are the famous frescoes. The summit of the rock, with an area of nearly one hectare was the site of the palace and the outer wall was built on the very brink of the precipice. The UNESCO sponsored Central Cultural Fund has restored Sigiriya 5th century water gardens to their former glory
On completion return to hotel and relax.

Day 03: DAMBULLA / MATALE / KANDY
After breakfast at hotel, proceed to visit Dambulla Cave Temple.(Approx. Transfer time: 15 - 20 Mins)
A vast isolated rock mass- it was here that king Valagambahu took refuge in the 01st century B.C. He later turned the caves into a rock temple. Dambulla is a world heritage site and is the most impressive of Sri Lanka’s cave temples. The complex of five caves with over 2000 sq. meters of painted walls and ceiling found here are over 2000 years old and is the largest area of painting found in the world. The caves contain over 150 images of the Buddha of which the largest is the colossal figure of the Buddha carved out of rock and spanning 14 meters.
On completion proceed to Kandy.
En route make a visit to a Spice Garden in Matale. (Approx Transfer time: 1 - 1.5 HRS)
Matale is famous for its batik production and spice gardens. Batik has been an ancient art of painting cloth and today Sri Lanka is among the world leaders in the design of batik. Batik galleries and factories offer batik from simple single-colored designs to intricate multi-colored masterpieces. For centuries, spices have been one of Sri Lanka's celebrated exports. Spices are mostly grown in home gardens (as a home industry) and used not only to flavor food but also for medicine and cosmetics.
Thereafter continue to Kandy.(Approx Transfer time: 1 - 1.5 HRS)
Kandy is a lovely city, the Hill Capital and last stronghold of the Sinhala Kings retains an aura of grandeur, which time has not affected. Encircled by hills, with a tranquil lake in its center, it is the site of the renowned "Temple of the Tooth". Kandy and its satellite villages is the center of the island’s handicraft industry and its traditional dances are the most spectacular in the country.
Check into hotel.
In the evening make a visit to The Temple of the Tooth Relic.
Temple of the Tooth Relic is located in the royal palace complex which houses the Relic of the tooth of Buddha.
After that witness a Cultural Dance performance in the evening. These classical dance forms are associated with the performance of various rituals and ceremonies which are centuries old and are based on the folk religion and folk beliefs going back to times before the advent and acceptance of Buddhism by the Sinhalese people in the third century B.C. Return to the Hotel.
On completion proceed to hotel .

Day 04: KANDY / UDAWATTAKELE / COLOMBO
Proceed to visit Udawattakele Sanctuary.(Approx. Transfer time: 10 - 15 Mins)
Udawattakele mainly a bird sanctuary and bird gathering which happens mainly in morning hours between 0545 HRS to 0700 HRS. After 0700 HRS limited birds can be spotted . Due to this we will organize a packed Breakfast from hotel.
Udawattakele Sanctuary: Udawatta Forest is a historical forest not far from the city of Kandy. During the days of the Kandyan kingdom Udawatta Forest was known as "Uda Wasala Watta" in Sinhalese meaning "the garden of the king". The reserve is famous for its bird life and a wide variety of plant species. The forest is also of religious significance, since there are three Buddhist meditation retreats. Udawatta Forest was named in 1856 as a forest reserve, and it was a sanctuary in 1938.
On completion check out from the hotel and proceed to Colombo.
Sri Lanka’s commercial capital and the largest city with the highest population, Colombo is situated in the Western Province. It is a fascinating town which has a blend of eastern and western cultures where all colors of the island are drawn together. Many visitors appreciate the city’s colonial heritage and enjoy the vast range of fine shopping and dining outlets that can be located within the rush of its urban buzz.

Day 05: COLOMBO / AIRPORT / MALDIVES
Today after breakfast you will be transferred to the Colombo Airport to catch your flight to continue to your beach stay in Maldives.
On arrival to the Airport of Maldives you will be transferred to your hotel by a speed boat.
Check into hotel and relax.

Day 06 - 09 ,11 or 14: MALDIVES
Enjoy the All Inclusive facilities at hotel.
