Your Itinerary —
Day 1: Arrival in Sri Lanka
Upon arrival in Colombo, you will be transferred to your hotel for your overnight stay (approx. travel time: 45 minutes - 1 hour).
After breakfast, check-out of your hotel and proceed to Udawalawe (approx. travel time: 3 - 4 hours). Upon arrival you can check into your hotel before embarking on a safari through the Udawalawe National Park, this 30,821 hectares is famed for its abundant elephant herds (almost 400 in total).
During a visit, it is not unusual to see whole herds of adults and young elephants feeding or bathing and playing in the water. In addition to this main attraction, the park is home to many water buffalo, water monitor lizards, sambar deer, monkeys and the occasional leopard, as well as being an exciting location for bird enthusiasts.
After breakfast, check out of the hotel and proceed to Ella Railway station to catch your train to Nanu Oya (approx travel time: 2 - 2½ hours). The train journey from Ella to Nanu Oya is one of the favorite train rides among all travelers who visiting Sri Lanka .This train powers up through Sri Lanka’s southern hill country, through the tea plantations, into the clouds and then weaves in and out of the many mountain tunnels as it descends to reach Ella.
On completion proceed to Nuwara Eliya for a small sight seeing tour of this amazing location Nuwara Eliya is set in the heart of tea-country is a beautiful town where the British succeeded in creating a replica of the English countryside, with homes in styles from Georgian to Queen Anne.
On completion proceed to visit a Tea Estate. Here you would see how the world’s famous “Ceylon Tea” is manufactured. Today even people who have never heard of Sri Lanka are familiar with Ceylon tea, which is known for its quality.
On completion proceed to your hotel in Kandy where you will spend the rest of the day at leisure, enjoying the amenities of the hotel (approx travel time: 2 - 2½ hours).
After breakfast you will be free to explore the city of Kandy.
Temple of the Tooth Relic is a Buddhist temple in the City of Kandy. It is considered the foremost sacred place of worship in the Buddhist World. On the outside, the temple buildings are not magnificent or elaborately decorated. While with red roofs, they cluster around Kandy Lake. In striking contrast to the plain exterior, the interiors of the temple buildings are richly carved and decorated with inlaid woods, ivory and lacquer. The relic of the tooth is kept in a two story inner shrine fronted by two large elephant tusks.
After that witness a Cultural Dance performance in the evening. These classical dance forms are associated with the performance of various rituals and ceremonies which are centuries old and are based on the folk religion and folk beliefs going back to times before the advent and acceptance of Buddhism by the Sinhalese people in the third century B.C. Afterwards, return to the hotel.
After breakfast check out from the hotel and proceed to Passikudah. En Route visit Matale Spice garden (approx transfer time: 1 - 1½ hours). This was originally the King's own royal pleasure garden that was later converted into s botanic garden & opened to the public. At the Royal Botanical Garden you will find an amazing, varied & rare collection of tropical & temperate, exotic & indigenous flora, alongside an orchid house with the largest collection in Asia.
On completion continue to Dambulla Cave Temple (approx travel time: 1½ - 2 hours). Dambulla Cave Temple is a vast isolated rock mass and it was here that king Valagambahu took refuge in the 01st century B.C. when fleeing from his enemies. He later turned the caves into a rock temple. The Golden Temple of Dambulla has been the centre of pilgrimage for Buddhists and Hindus alike for 22 centuries. It is Sri Lanka’s most popular historic site.
Afterwards, continue to Passikudah where you will stay for 5, 7 or 9 nights.

If these hotels are not available, hotels of a similar standard will be found.
