The mild weather and unique territory is ideal for wine-growing and the region has amassed many international awards over the years. Daily wine-tasting and cellar tours are available at most of the numerous vineyards. Many also have restaurant and picnic facilities to spend a leisurely afternoon.
Under the guide of the friendly, knowledgeable rangers, you stand a very good chance of seeing some or all of the Big Five during your stay (lions, elephants, buffalo, leopard and rhino) and you might even be lucky enough to encounter a rare white lion.
