The Shiduli Private Game Lodge is situated in Tzaneen, Limpopo, on the Big Five Karongwe Game Reserve. This lodge offers an unrivalled African safari experience where the warm atmosphere, friendly staff and fine cuisine complement the excellent game viewing.
Guests can enjoy a lush garden dappled in shade, lounges with internet facilities, a bar, a huge sparkling swimming pool and thatched dining areas decorated with original South African art.
The three main lounges are stylishly decorated in leathers, silks and stone and an outside lounge offers a view of the watering hole.
The 24 intimate rooms have beds fitted with crisp white linen, and swathed in flowing mosquito nets under the canopy of a thatched roof.
The Royal Suite lies tucked away a short distance from the main lodge. The en-suite bathroom includes a bath as well as a large glass shower enclosure which leads to an outdoor shower on the deck.
This charming lodge sits against the backdrop of the dramatic Drakensberg mountain range. Spanning over 9000 hectares, with its three perennial rivers and huge Jackelberry and Leadwood trees, the reserve is the ideal place to observe the Big 5 in their natural habitat.
Your Daily Routine:
Wake up each morning at 5 am thanks to the morning wake-up call, and head down for coffee, tea, hot chocolate and rusks served in the main area. Your morning game drive will start at 5:30 am, and you'll return to the lodge between 8:30 and 9 am.
Gather round for afternoon tea at 3 pm, and start your afternoon game drive at 4 pm. The game drive will last around 3 hours, and you'll return to the lodge after 7 pm, after which dinner will be served.

Limpopo, the northernmost province of South Africa, is a huge and diverse province characterised by traditional cultures, vast open spaces and terrific wildlife watching.
In addition to the well-known Kruger National Park, with over 2 million hectares inhabited by rhinos, lions, buffalo, giraffes, and leopards to name but a few, there are plenty of smaller private game reserves dotted around the province. Where better to see the Big 5 than in their natural habitat with backdrops of gushing waterfalls, vast plains and spectacular sunsets?
History lovers will no doubt enjoy the country's most significant Iron Age site in Mapungubwe National Park, while the Ribolla Cultural Route offers tourists the chance to see local contemporary art produced by craftsmen in the area.
Limpopo has centuries-old traditions steeped in magic and mystery, with tales of a great white crocodile, a giant python and a village of cursed people at the bottom of a lake. Visit Lake Fundudzi and Thathe Vondo Forest to hear such stories with a guided tour.
