Your Itinerary —
During their tour, our members may follow the itinerary as follows.
On arrival, you will be met by a representative who will be ready and waiting to assist you to your complimentary shuttle transfer that will take you to your hotel for the night. The Silverbirch @ Birchwood 4* is strategically positioned in a quiet section of the Birchwood grounds. It is conveniently located with controlled, secure access far from bustling conference and event activity. Offering a dedicated, express check-in area at the Birchwood main reception area as well as a business centre for convenience. Each room also features Wi-Fi access as well. Silverbirch @ Birchwood 4* is set apart to cater for travellers who require more private, facilities. Adding to the exclusivity, Silverbirch offers guests access to the unique steakhouse, The Grill at OneTwenty where one can enjoy meals prepared to perfection. Guests can kick-start their day in the Silverbirch Breakfast Room in the Petit Centre - just another way that Silverbirch will offer guests unrivalled care and personal service.
Day 2 & 3: Johannesburg - Blyde River Canyon
Following a lovely relaxed breakfast, check out of the hotel and wait for your shuttle to take you back to the airport where you can collect your car from the Avis depot. Pick up your hired car and start your journey by taking the road to Mpumalanga (prepare for a long journey as you have a 4.5 hour drive ahead of you). Upon arrival at the Blyde Canyon, A Forever Resort 4*, you can relax as this is where you will be spending the next 2 nights. Nestled between the majestic Drakensberg Mountains and the sparkling clear waters of the Blyde River, this hotel offers a unique bush experience. The Lodge is set in an 85 hectare Botanical Reserve which boasts a wealth of fauna and flora.
Enjoy a sumptuous breakfast and check out of your current lodge to make your way to the aha Makalali Private Game Lodge 4*, where you will be spending the next 3 nights. This is only a 1-hour drive, so sit back, relax and enjoy the beautiful scenery that Mpumalanga has to offer. Upon arrival, check in and freshen up before lunch. Enjoy afternoon tea and depart on your first game drive in the late afternoon. Dinner is included at the Lodge. The aha Makalali Private Game Lodge 4* is located close to the mighty Drakensberg mountains. West of the Kruger Park, this ethnic bush retreat lies on 26 000 hectares of bushveld in the North-eastern Lowveld. Makalali Game Reserve boasts the Big Five and other characteristic species such as cheetah, giraffe, zebra and kudu. The aha Makalali Lodge is a 4 star lodge, comprising of 30 comfortably designed standard rooms, all with en-suite bathrooms. The rooms are air-conditioned and feature luxurious interiors with classic leather and wood furnishings.
After your last game-drive and last breakfast at the aha Makalali Private Game Lodge 4*, check-out and prepare for a 5-hour drive back to the OR Tambo International Airport to drop off your hired car. Make your way to the area where your shuttle dropped you off on the second day of this trip, and wait for your shuttle to collect you so you may go and check back into Silverbirch @ Birchwood 4* for the night.
Day 8: Johannesburg - Departure
Following a delicious breakfast, head back to the airport via shuttle transfers for your return flight home (or your flight to Mauritius when opting to add the extension)!

Deep Mauritius
Your day will begin with a shopping session in the factory outlets of Floréal and Curepipe where you may be tempted by a jewel at the diamond cutting factory, Adamas. After a stop at the crater of Trou aux Cerfs where you will enjoy a panoramic view of all Mauritius, you will arrive at the mystical lake of Grand Bassin, the place of the Hindu Mauritian pilgrimage. You will then admire the unique site of the Gorges de la Rivière Noire with abundant endemic flora which is home to many rare monkeys and birds such as Straw Tail, Cateau Verte or Kestrel.
Then enjoy lunch at the restaurant Rhumerie de Chamarel, followed by a rum tasting. Continue exploring the land of the seven colours and waterfalls of Chamarel and finally finish exploring one of the most beautiful forests endemic to Mauritius.
Underwater Scooter Experience
Discover the breathtaking depths of the crystal clear waters that surround you with this half day (4-hour) underwater scooter experience!! Dive up to 3 metres deep to see the colourful marine life in their natural habitat. No need to be a diver or swimmer to drive the sub-scooter. Comfortably seated, you can breathe freely and naturally in a large transparent and panoramic dome. For your safety, a diver will guide you during the 30 minutes of your underwater cruise.
Catamaran Cruise to Benitiers Island
Sail aboard a catamaran from Black River on the west coast to Tamarin Bay where you may be able to see the dolphins in their natural environment! These charming mammals, who often appear in pods, promise you a wonderful aquatic ballet.

Travel the island at your own pace by booking a chauffeur-driven car. The driver comes to the hotel, picks you up and then you can define your itinerary for the day. You have two options: Choose an 8 hrs (1 day) option or 2 times 8 hrs (2 days) during the stay.
Catamaran Cruise in the North Islands
Departing from Grand Bay on the north coast, embark on a journey on board a beautiful catamaran and sail the Indian Ocean. Admire the Coin de Mire which stands in the middle of the ocean. Upon the horizon, you will see a deserted island... white sand, shells, exotic fish, beautiful corals, crystalline lagoons await you. Masks, snorkels and fins will be included so that you are free to discover the beauty of the seabed.
There will be a small shuttle that will run you back and forth from the catamaran and the island – perfect for those who want to sunbathe on the beach. A delicious lunch of grilled meat is served on board.

The flights included are with either a scheduled or no-frills airline and are subject to live availability and prices can change. You can choose your preferred departure times during the booking process. Please select your flight options carefully as departure and arrival airports may differ.
Transfers: Return shared shuttle airport transfers are included in South Africa. When choosing to add the Mauritius stopver, inter-hotel transfers and shared airport transfers are included.
Members going to Mauritius have the opportunity to upgrade to private car transfers, private car transfers with golf baggage and private mini bus transfers with golf baggage at the next stage of the booking process for an additional fee.
