Exotic and colourful orchids and frangipani thrive in the tropical climate and the coastline, protected by coral reefs, is blue and calm. There is much to see and do in Mauritius beyond the pristine white sandy beaches. 

Whilst the sandy outskirts are an oasis of peace and tranquillity, the mountainous interior encompasses Black River Gorges National Park, with rainforests, waterfalls and hiking trails for visitors to explore.

Your Itinerary —

Day 1: Arrival in Cape Town. Pick up your car and start your self-drive adventure.

Day 2 - 3: Spend some time exploring South Africa's capital city.  Situated at the base of Table Mountain, it is the capital city of the Western Cape. Whether you are looking for history, natural beauty or a cosmopolitan lifestyle, the 'Mother City' has it all. There is such a diversity of attractions and activities you will not be disappointed with your city experience. Offering fantastic views of the city, Table Mountain dominates the skyline. 

Day 4: Drive 2 hours to Aquila Game Reserve for your 2 night safari. You will be greeted by a welcome drink at 12:30 followed by a buffet lunch. Your first game drive will commence at 4pm. Your buffet dinner will be served at 7pm.

Day 5: Depart on an early morning safari at 7am, returning for a buffet breakfast at 8am. The rest of the day will be free to do as you please. Lunch will be served at 1pm, we suggest that you spend the afternoon horse riding or quad biking. Your buffet dinner will be served at 7pm.

Day 6: Return to Cape Town's airport, we suggest that you return via South Africa's famously beautiful wine road and indulge in some wine tasting. Drop-off your car at the airport & board your flight to Mauritius.

Casela World of Adventures is an adventure theme park for the whole family. Situated at Cascavelle, 5 minutes from Tamarina Boutique Hotel, the park spans over 400 hectares proposing unique, and intense moments in Mauritius.  

Whether you choose to walk with lions, trek in the river, experience zip lines, the toboggan and the 4D cinema, the park has something for everyone. The little ones will be delighted by the tilapia fishing, petting and feeding the farm animals. One can choose the safari via different modes: bus, quad or buggy rides or Segway to see giraffes, zebras, ostriches and other African animals.

Enjoy a first-hand encounter with some of the islands more common dolphin species, including the Bottlenose Dolphin and the Spinner Dolphin. Swim alongside the majestic and adorable aquatic mammals, and learn about their natural habitat on the coast of Mauritius.

Full Day Taxi Service
This is a personal service where you get a taxi with driver for the whole day to go wherever you want. The driver comes to the hotel, picks you up and then you can define your itinerary for the day. You have two options: Choose an 8 hrs (1 day) option or 2 times 8 hrs (2 days) during the stay.

Robben Island Cruise
Visit the island that Nelson Mandela, Walter Sisulu and Govan M'beki, father of the former President of the Republic, spent many years breaking stones in the name of freedom. The outcome of the prison inspires respect and emotion. Many people will gather in front of the cell of the one who was baptized Father of the Nation. The site is classified heritage of humanity.

Accessible in 1 hour from the Waterfront (starting point at the foot of the clock Tower), the island of Robben Island does not call for the walk but for the pilgrimage.

Car Hire —

Please note you cannot be guaranteed a specific make of car within a certain group.

The minimum age for driving a hire car in South Africa is 21 and drivers must have held a full driving licence for a least 1 year.

The lead name on the booking will be confirmed as the named driver.  The named driver must present a credit card in their name when collecting the car (credit cards in other names will not be accepted).

The named driver must also present a full valid driving licence on collection of the vehicle and in some cases a credit card or cash deposit will be required.

Please ensure that you check your car hire documents carefully once received as this will advise if there are any taxes/charges to be paid locally as well as potential mileage restrictions.

Your Contract —

If you book a package which includes flights, your contract will be with Voyage Privé. The air holiday package(s) shown are ATOL protected by the Civil Aviation Authority. Our ATOL number is 10170.
