Safari at Mohlabetsi Safari Lodge —
Stay at Mohlabetsi Safari Lodge, located in the Balule reserve, and get the chance to catch a glimpse of the Big 5.
On the first and last night of your trip, you'll stay in Johannesburg at the Premier Hotel O.R. Tambo in a Standard Room before heading to Mohlabetsi Safari Lodge or back home. Choose from a 5 - 12 night stay in Mohlabetsi.
Balule Nature Reserve - Kruger National Park —
Tucked away in the heart of Limpopo Province, Balule Game Reserve offers easy access to the wild beauty of South Africa’s wildlife. As part of the vast Greater Kruger National Park, Balule shares an unfenced boundary with the famous Kruger itself, giving visitors a chance to witness iconic wildlife as they adventure across one of the world's largest conserved areas.
Covering around 23,000 square kilometres (or 7 million acres) of pristine wilderness, this reserve lies in the lowveld’s mixed woodland eco-zone - an area renowned for its rich biodiversity. 7-night stay:
Day 1: Arrive in Johannesburg
- On arrival at Johannesburg OR Tambo International Airport, you'll be met by a Sense of Africa representative who will escort you to the airport shuttle
- Airport shuttle: departing every 30 minutes from D'oreale, via Mondior and Peermont Metcourt to the airport. The shuttle will be available from 7am to 10pm every day.
Day 2: Johannesburg - Balule
Head out on an afternoon safari after lunch, ready to encounter some incredible wildlife.
- Breakfast, lunch and dinner included
- Shuttle bus from OR Tambo International Airport then on to Hoedspruit
- Transfer to Mohlabetsi Safari Lodge early in the morning (approx. 6-hour drive)
- Afternoon game drive
Days 3-6: Balule Game Reserve
On these days, you'll enjoy two game drives a day, one in the morning and one in the afternoon.
Day 7: Balule -Johannesburg
- Breakfast included
- Final game drive and breakfast at the lodge
- Transfer to Johannesburg, then to OR Tambo International Airport
Day 8: Departure
Breakfast at the hotel, then take the shuttle to the airport for your return flight.
The first two days and the last two days of the itinerary are the same for all durations. Depending on your chosen duration chosen, you will get more or less days with the included safaris in the Balule reserve (for 8-night stays from day 3 to day 7, for 9-night stays from day 3 to day 8, etc.).

Rondawel Standard Room (30 m²)
Typical African houses, the Rondawels, are round huts with characteristic thatched roofs. Fully protected against insects, they are furnished for your comfort and enjoyment with international multiple sockets, personal safes, and ceiling fans as well as air conditioning.
Your dining choices
This offer is based on a bed and breakfast stay in Johannesburg, and a full board stay Mohlabetsi Safari Lodge (breakfast, lunch and your evening meal served in the buffet main restaurant - excludes drinks).
Head to the bar and open-air lounge on warm evenings, and admire stunning views over the fields and watering hole. When you fancy a bite to eat, the covered dining room and the boma serve delicious and filling campfire dinners so you can refuel after busy days outside.

The outdoor pool is dotted with sun loungers; grab your book and stretch out in the warm African sunshine.

You will be able to choose your airline and flight times when you make your booking. This flight may include one or more stopovers. The stopover may be technical (without a change of aircraft) or transit (with a change of aircraft).
