Cape Town

Cape Town is renowned for being one of the most beautiful cities in the world. Situated at the base of Table Mountain, it is the capital city of the Western Cape. Whether you are looking for history, natural beauty or a cosmopolitan lifestyle, the 'Mother City' has it all. 

There is such a diversity of attractions and activities here, you will not be disappointed with your city experience. Offering fantastic views of the city, Table Mountain dominates the skyline. For natural surroundings, there are gardens, beaches and vineyards all close by. Cape Town is steeped in history and many of the museums and monuments have much to tell. For a cosmopolitan and lively experience, visit the Victoria & Alfred Waterfront with a wide variety of shops, restaurants and craft markets.

Whilst you are in Cape Town, there are a plethora of things to do to keep you enthralled throughout. From hiking to the top of Table Mountain and watching the sun go down at Lion's Head, to visiting Robben Island to see where Nelson Mandela was imprisoned. Take a day trip to the Cape of Good Hope, make some new penguin friends at Boulder Beach (and even swim with them!) or view the vastness of the wineries in Stellenbosch or Constantia. Lastly, kick back on the  V&A Waterfront with a meal and a drink after a visit to the Zeizt Mocca Museum to wind down from your adventures!

Winelands

The third oldest settlement in South Africa, Paarl is steeped in history and culture. The Paarl Wine Route, which is the second oldest in the country, is known for its full-bodied spicy reds and crisp whites. Shiraz is the most important varietal from the area, but Paarl wineries also produce remarkable Chenin blanc, chardonnay, pinotage, Viognier and Mourvedre.

Stellenbosch dates back to 1679 and is the second-oldest wine producing region in South Africa. No more than half an hour’s drive from the cosmopolitan buzz of Cape Town, here, there is a relaxed, small-town atmosphere and a leisurely lifestyle, no doubt helped by the stunning natural scenery. The views over vineyards, mountains and orchards offer excellent photographic opportunities and provide a calming respite from the exciting pace of Cape Town. The mild weather and unique territory are ideal for wine-growing and the region has amassed many international awards over the years. Daily wine-tasting and cellar tours are available at most of the numerous vineyards. Many also have restaurant and picnic facilities, where guests can spend a leisurely afternoon.

Johannesburg

Johannesburg, or Jo’burg as it is more commonly known, is South Africa’s largest city, situated on an interior plateau known as the Highveld. Johannesburg is one of South Africa’s key gateway cities and offers an array of exciting sightseeing options. There's something for everyone - museums that examine the country's apartheid past, the city's exciting new Constitutional Court, a look at the city's gold mining beginnings, traditional African medicine and plenty of animals and outdoor fun.

Kruger National Park

The Kruger National Park is arguably the finest game park in the world and is situated only an hour’s flight from Jo’burg.  Most lodges offer two game drives per day (one early in the morning and one in the evening) and your chances of seeing the “Big Five” - lion, leopard, elephant, rhino and buffalo - are excellent. This must be high on the list of "musts" for any visit to South Africa. Travel between July to November for ultimate game-viewing, as this is when the park is dry and animals congregate around the water sources. After the short December rains, the bush is verdant and lush and birdlife is at its finest. It is also the calving season when hordes of wildebeests are born every day.

The landscape is utterly breathtaking, with around 7,500 square miles of land comprised of beautiful granite hills peppering the southern bush.
