Your Trans-Siberian Experience —
Travelling in the luxury of the Imperial Russia train, visiting many of the largest historical and cultural centres of the vast Russian Empire, is an incredible way to journey through the heart of Russia. One of the most famous railways in the world, the Trans-Siberian Railway is thousands of kilometres long, running from the shores of the Baltic Sea to the shores of the Pacific Ocean, with an important junction to the Trans-Mongolian Railway.
Embark on a memorable journey that will take you through continents and centuries, from the modern majesty of Beijing to shimmering Lake Baikal - which covers an area the size of Holland! - and the largely unvisited Siberian cities that have served as the backdrop for some of Russia's most monumental moments...you'll have a front-row seat to it all.
Your Itinerary —
Day 1: UK - Moscow
Upon arrival in Moscow, you will be transferred to your hotel for check-in.
Overnight in Hotel Novotel Moscow with breakfast included.
After breakfast, depart for the Red Square, named not only in honour of its distinctive red bricks but also because the word red also means 'beautiful' in the Russian language.
Afterwards, visit monastery, a fortress located in the southwest of the city that houses several shrines including the beautiful baroque church of the Transfiguration & the magnificent Cathedral of Notre-Dame-de-Smolensk. You will also have a chance to see the famously elaborate metro stations & have lunch in town before being transferred to your train.
Overnight on the Trans-Siberian Train. Lunch in town is also included.
Today you will arrive in the capital of the Urals in the late afternoon & be transferred to your hotel. Welcome to the capital of the Urals: this is the site of everything from the last days the Russian Imperial Empire to legendary gangster wars.

Day 4: Yekaterinburg, Russia
Today's city tour is dedicated to the last days of the Tzar & the Russian Imperial Empire. Marvel at the opulence of the Russian Orthodox churches, with their gold encrusted walls and brightly coloured domes, it's not hard to see why these structures are widely considered to be the pearls of Russian construction. Visit the Europe/Asia boundary where you can stand with one foot in each continent!

Day 5 & 6: On board the Trans-Siberian Train
Travel through Omsk, Novosibirsk & Krasnoyarsk where you will find hawker selling their wares on the platforms.

Today you will be transferred across the sparkling Lake Baikel, aside from its stunning natural beauty, it is also the size of Holland, the deepest lake in the world and is home to a unique and elegant breed of freshwater seal, so it has earned its nickname as the 'Pearl of Siberia'.
Today you will be taken to the Museum of Baikal where you will learn about the unique life that resides within the lake. Walk to the village and explore its church, St. Nikolas, the harbour & the fish market. Afterwards, you will enjoy a traditional lunch at the restaurant at the edge of Lake Baikal. Next, you will board a small boat which will take you along the picturesque lake (approx time: 2-3hrs)

After breakfast, return to Irkutsk, en route you will be taken to the wooden architecture museum, Taltsy. Called the 'Paris of Siberia', the classic wooden architecture & soaring spires certainly remind you of a western city. The true highlight of this city is the Irkutskaya Sloboda district where you will be surrounded by lovingly reconstructed 19th-century houses. Your tour will take you to the dock of the Angara, the Church of the Saviour & the Decemberist Museum.

Day 9: On board the Trans-Siberian
Depart your hotel early in the morning and transfer to the train. Ride along the Selenga River & climb to Ulaanbaatar across the steppe. Today you will be crossing the Russian-Mongolian Border.

You will be arriving in this beautiful region in the morning and transferred to your yurt at the foot of Mont Khentii. This is a wild region that consists of steppes and out of sight valleys dotted with white yurts of nomadic pastoralists, strewn valleys of wildflowers and edelweiss, wooded mountains of pine and larch trees, beautiful rock formations carved by erosion of many rivers and mountain lakes where there is rich fauna and flora.

If you are staying between 20th September - 15th April you will be accommodated in a Ramada Hotel instead of a Yurt due to adverse weather conditions.
Day 11: Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia
After breakfast, visit the well-known Buddhist Monastery Gandan, where the famous 26.5-meter-high golden statue of Migjid Janraisig the bodhisattva of Avalokitesvara is located. This is followed by lunch in town.
Overnight at Ramada Ulaanbaatar City Centre with breakfast & dinner included & lunch served in the town.
Day 12: On board the Trans-Mongolian Train
Spend the day admiring the scenery as you embark on the final leg of your journey.

Please note that your train wagon's bogies will be changed at night on night 12.
Wake up amidst the landscapes of the Chinese countryside. Upon arrival in Beijing you will be transferred to the Great wall, a monument that was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site that has become integral to China's history and is arguably the most important architectural structure ever built by mankind in length, surface & mass.

Day 14: Beijing, China
Today is free to do as you please with optional guides on sight if you so choose. Explore this fascinating part of the world with iconic sites such as Tienanmen Square & the Imperial Palace Gugun (The Forbidden City). Visit the Temple of Heaven - a place, where Chinese Emperors of the Ming and Qing dynasty annually staged the rituals of sacrifice to the Sky.

Day 15: Beijing - UK
After breakfast you will be transferred to the airport for your return flight.

Meals are not included on trains. Breakfast & hot meals can be served in your cabin on certain trains/routes.
These prices are based on a shared cabin (with another couple), you can choose to upgrade to a private cabin at the next stage of the booking process for an additional fee.
Please note that if you are a single traveller you will be automatically housed in a shared cabin.
2 Person Cabins
The train stops fairly regularly, every 4 hours, sometimes minutes, sometimes half an hour. During longer stops, you will have the opportunity to go down on the platform for some fresh air and stretch your legs. This is also the opportunity to buy some food.
Restaurant Cars
All long haul trains feature a dining car which features large panoramic windows that provide amazing vistas whilst passengers enjoy traditional cuisine.

You will be staying in standard rooms throughout, meals will be as per the itinerary.
