Your Hotel —
The Hotel Metropol Moscow is a luxurious 5* historical hotel residing in the very heart of Moscow. Boasting an ideal location from which to venture out and visit the many cultural and historical landmarks, it is the ideal destination to visit sights such as the Bolshoy Theatre, the Red Square, and more.
From its ornate exterior to its plush lobby, the incredible beauty and grandeur of this hotel trumps the rest. Almost bearing a greater resemblance to a museum rather than a hotel, the building hosts an estimated 800 unites of antiques in its halls and suites.
Your luxury experience will follow you from your room to the beautiful 'Metropol' restaurant, serving gourmet cuisine at the hotel, rivaling almost any other top restaurant in Moscow.
When I visited Moscow for the first time in 1998, I wandered into the historic Metropol Hotel as a curious tourist simply to ogle the giant painted glass ceiling that hangs over the grand restaurant off the lobby. It was the memory of that short visit that prompted me, some years later, to set A Gentleman in Moscow in the hotel.

Chaliapin Bar:
Enjoy a cocktail before dinner at the Chaliapin Bar. For an easy appetizer or a cheeky digestive after a meal, we recommend visiting this sophisticated bar located on the ground floor of the hotel. The space is decorated in typically glamorous Metropol style: marble columns, stucco ceilings, and sparking Art Nouveu chandeliers overhead. Sip on a legendary cocktail, or, if you wish, indulge in snacks such as sandwiches, salads and exquisite desserts. Here, you can also enjoy Russian High Tea, held every day from 10:00.
