Picturesque Porto is much more than just a place of pilgrimage for port wine lovers - although this unique industry is among the many attractions of Portugal's second city.

Straddling the River Douro just a few kilometres inland from the Atlantic, Porto, in the country's Northwest, is closer to Spanish Galicia than it is to Lisbon. Porto possesses an appealing pan-Iberian atmosphere to complement its many historic charms; the old city centre is a UNESCO World Heritage site.

Porto Coliseum Hotel is perfectly located within this bustling metropolis: you are only a short walk from Bolhão Market, a colourful place to sample fresh food and vegetables from all across Portugal. With metro stations within 300m of the hotel, enjoy the central location as you zip around the city with ease.
Cross to the south side of the Douro River, over the Ponte Dom Luís I, and you leave the city of Porto for the separate town of Vila Nova de Gaia. The riverfront here - facing Porto's Ribeira - also has a long line of cafés, bars and restaurants; cruise boats dock along the Esplanade, while the wooden craft with sails is known as barcos rabelos, the traditional boats once used to transport wine casks downriver from the Douro port estates.

The views are, if anything, better from Gaia than from the Porto side, looking back across to a largely eighteenth-century cityscape, with few modern buildings intruding in the panoramic sweep from Palácio de Cristal gardens to cathedral towers.

The building, which started being constructed in 1908 and was completed in 1941, still operates as a theatre, concert and cinema venue: part of the cultural fabric that makes up Porto then and now.

Porto Coliseum is proud of its theatrical history: rooms pay homage to past performances and iconic avant-garde film stars. Receive “star treatment” from the hospitable staff and enjoy the film noir black and white décor in the rooms.

Please check all details on this confirmation are correct. If there are any discrepancies, please notify us as soon as possible.

The airline is ticketless and therefore, you will not receive any hard copy documents. You will however, receive an email from us detailing your flight information and reference number to enable you to manage your booking online via the airline website.

You will also receive an accommodation voucher for presentation at the hotel reception at point of check-in.

If you have booked transfers, Meet & Greet, car hire or airport lounges, you will receive a separate voucher for each of these services. Please note that transfer vouchers are sent directly from the transfer supplier.
