Dom Carlos Liberty is located in the middle of it all, next to Avenida da Liberdade, one of the prime shopping districts of Lisbon. In the perfect blend of old and new, Avenida da Liberdade is a 90m wide boulevard dotted with elegant fountains and monuments, as well as luxury fashion brands and cafes. Sip a galão – espresso with steamed milk – and people-watch, or wander the mosaic-adorned pavement and enjoy the various statues the Avenida has to offer. Though designed in 1876 after the Champs-Élysées in Paris, the Avenida da Liberdade has a classy flair that is quintessentially Portuguese.
On the second stay of your stay, you will sail the River Tejo and discover the city’s waterfront. Leaving from Cais do Sodre, easily accessible by the Lisbon metro, you will sail along the banks and see a number of cultural highlights: the castle, the Alfama district, the Cathedral, the Terreiro do Paco, and the Pantheon. You will learn about their history, as well as the background of the shipping industry in Lisbon.
