The Portuguese island of Madeira is a lush island in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean, approximately 600 miles from the Portuguese capital of Lisbon and 500 miles from the coast of Morocco. Touring the island is highly recommended. Only 32 miles long and 12 miles wide, this incredibly surprising sub-tropical island rises to almost 6,000 feet at its highest point. Madeira has an enormous variety of exotic sub-tropical vegetation with a mass of flowers in every garden, spectacular mountains and deep valley scenery, pine forests, waterfalls and craggy cliffs, and a network of vines that cover the hillsides providing grapes to make the famous Madeira Wine.

Your hotel is located just outside the coastal city of Funchal. The city's charming seafront and harbour make for a lovely romantic stroll any time of day. Funchal has many bars, restaurants, cafes, shops and nightclubs to keep you entertained.

Panoramic Tour: East & West Madeira in One Day - 6/8 hours

A wonderful opportunity to see the surprising contrast between east and west Madeira in an exciting one-day tour! Recommended for those who would like to see the best of what Madeira has to offer, including Ribeiro Frio, a natural park with endemic flowers; Santana: famous for the typical houses with thatched roofs; the North Coast with breathtaking views, waterfalls, deep valleys and impressive mountains; and  Porto Moniz, the perfect place for lunch near the natural volcanic rook swimming pools, before heading up to the only vast volcanic plateau on the Island – Paul da Serra.

Returning down to the south west and back to your hotel, you will pass through little lovely fishing villages with banana plantations and vineyards, which all together makes an unforgettable day!

Full day tour - 9am until 5pm. Wednesdays and Fridays only.

Madeira Centre: Nun's Valley and Monte Village - 4 hours

This is a half-day journey to the very heart of the island to experience the beautiful Nun’s Valley & Monte village! First stop at Pico Dos Barcelos, which enjoys superb views of the west side of Funchal. Winding up the mountains we go to the view point of Eira do Serrado, with a superb view over the village of Curral das Freiras – the nun’s valley. From the centre of the Island the next stop will the at the village of Monte, the lovely village above Funchal and famous for the church, the gardens and toboggan ride (optional and not included on the price).

Half-day tour - 2pm until 6pm. Mondays and Thursdays only.

Levada Walks - 4 hours

See and feel the Island in its full majesty and discover some sights that are only accessible by taking to the islands paths, trails and Levadas on foot. An easy walk along a 'Levada' (Madeira unique water irrigation system) in the village of Gaula. Lovely views, flowers, valleys and country side people is what you will have during one hour easy and flat walk.

Then it is time to visit one of the habitants house were you will be welcomed with a fabulous afternoon tea accompanied by; sweet potato homemade bread, sandwiches, cakes, biscuits, fruit and a delicious dessert. One of our guest’s favorite tours! A special day to remember.
