This historic manor house hotel is located in the picturesque village of Monte, renowned for its wonderful climate and views. The hotel is surrounded by extensive gardens, featuring many centenary trees and abundant subtropical vegetation. A slope stretching behind the Quinta is covered with Laurissilva forest which was classified a ‘World Heritage Site’ by UNESCO. 

Enjoy easy access to Funchal city centre via the cable car, local buses or taxis from the village square. The Quinta do Monte 5* also provides a courtesy bus to the centre as well as private parking.

Quinta Do Monte 5* —

The original historic manor house was beautifully restored, in keeping with its traditional characteristics, featuring elegant antique furniture and Persian carpets. Guests can enjoy plush bedrooms, an elegant lounge and cocktail bar, a beautiful spa and a cafe pavilion. In the extensive gardens, you will find the original Chapel of the Quinta do Monte that was meticulously restored to the last detail.

Restaurant 'Monte Garden'
The Restaurant 'Monte Garden' keeps the traditional green flair of the antique manor houses of Madeira. It provides a superb panorama view over the extensive gardens. A complete ‘a la carte’ menu with a wide range of Madeiran, Portuguese and international dishes, selected by the kitchen chef Maurício Gonçalves is available. A carefully selected wine menu of Portuguese and international wines compliments the fine cuisine.

Cocktail-Bar
Located in the main part of the Quinta do Monte 5*, this bar has a warm and comfortable atmosphere and is the ideal place for an aperitif or digestive. Here you may also enjoy a traditional Madeiran "Royal Tea". On cooler evenings, relax by the side of a welcoming fire.

Café Pavilion
Tucked away in the gardens of the Quinta do Monte 5* and offering delightful views over picturesque Funchal, the typical Madeiran Café Pavilion is the ideal retreat for light meals, tea or refreshments in a relaxed and peaceful setting.

Full Day Excursion in Porto Moniz
On this, probably the most popular excursion on the Island, you will visit Ca de Lobos & Ribeira Brava. Then, travel up through a lush valley region to the mountain pass of Encumeada at 1007 m, with a wonderful view over the north and the south coast. Next descend to the north coast till Porto Moniz, famed for its volcanic rock swimming pools, passing through São Vicente & Seixal. Stop for lunch. From this pretty village, climb the mountains to Paúl da Serra and descend to the south-west coast till Calheta & Ponta do Sol. Finally the Cabo Girão (the 2nd highest sea climb in the world).

Full Day Excursion in Santana
What a glorious day out this is, with so many delights to see. Pico do Arieiro, which at 1810mtrs is
breathtaking, Ribeiro Frio, and the noted trout hatchery, Santana home to the ‘A’ framed cottages. Whilst later follow the stunning north coast, visiting Porto da Cruz, Portela and its dramatic mountain views, Machico where the discoverers first landed and finally Camacha home to the famous wickerwork warehouse. A truly delightful day out.

Half-Day Walking Tour in Marocos
Relaxing Levada Walk between mountains and valley’s on the area of Machico, the contrast of the natural vegetation and the terraces producing different vegetables and fruits, the thousands of different flowers are going to enchant you, this walk starts in Maroços and ends in Ribeira Seca.

Half-Day Walking Tour in Levada da Serra do Faial
Another relaxing walk along one of the beautiful levadas on the neighbourhoods of Funchal, a mixture of sea and mountains views is going to delight you. This walk starts in ‘’Caminho do Pico do Infante’’ and ends in ‘’rochão’’

Half-Day Walking Tour in Levada do Norte
All year round, this is a superb walk, with a sun-blessed aspect, through a landscape rich in cultivation. This walk starts just after Cabo Girão, passing through the valley of Quinta Grande and Campanario. The houses are festooned with dahlias and the aroma of wood fires is in the air. Along this Levada, you will see beautiful landscapes like as cultivation terraces, lovely houses, and charming gardens.
