Whales and dolphins watching around Terceira (half day)
The Azores are considered one of the best whale-watching spots in the world. Over the past few years, 28 species of whales and dolphins have been recorded here, which represents about one-third of the known cetacean species worldwide.
To ensure responsible whale watching, we combine the expertise of the "Vigia," who searches for whales and dolphins using long-range binoculars from a high vantage point. This information is transmitted to our boats via radio.
Onboard, our team uses their skills to locate and monitor cetaceans from the boat, ensuring a safe and non-threatening approach. All of this is done in accordance with the Azorean conduct code for approaching cetaceans.
