Tucked into the hills overlooking the crystal-clear blue waters of the Atlantic Ocean, Alvor is a picturesque fishing village, with plenty to see and do. From restaurants serving fresh fish to shops selling clothes, pottery and local produce, Alvor is ideal for spending a few relaxing days soaking up the vibrant atmosphere or just decompressing on a paradisiac beach.
Take time out to explore the narrow cobbled streets with traditional whitewashed houses and colourful flower baskets, and stroll through the quaint fishing alleys that lead down to the harbour, where you can sit on one of many benches along its promenade watching fishermen unload their daily catch. Conveniently located just 20 minutes from Faro Airport, this is an idyllic base to explore other parts of the beautiful Algarve region.
