Continue your journey onwards to Silves, the old capital of the Algarve, where you'll have free time to visit the Moorish Castle, the finest military monument from the Islamic period in Portugal, and the Gothic Cathedral (fees not included). On the way to the mountains, stop for lunch in a traditional restaurant. You'll then enjoy a panoramic stop at the Monchique mountains, Fóia, the highest point in the Algarve. Sample the "Medronho" regional firewater and delicious honey of Protected Designation of Origin, from a local producer. See out the day with a visit to a local wine producer and indulge in some wine tasting.
4x4 Jeep Safari - Algarve Expedition
After being given a short brief, you'll depart from your hotel and head towards Monchique, a small village located a few kilometers from the
highest point in the Algarve, Fóia, standing at 902 metres above sea level. On the way to the mountains, your driver will show and guide you through the fascinating fauna and flora of the region. "Sobreiro" is the cork tree, and the Algarve is one of the Portuguese regions that transforms and exports cork. Along the way you'll make another stop at a local distillery, to sample honey as well as a traditional drink from the region "Medronho".

Caves Boat Tour from Portimão
Enjoy a 2 hour 30 minute cruise along the beautiful Algarve coastline. Departing from Portimão, you'll embark on an adventure to discover stunning caves and bizarre rock formations designed by sea and wind erosion. Your first stop will be Carvoeiro and Algar Sêco, which are also known for their small yet spectacular beaches, some of which are only accessible by small boat.
Dolphin Discovery from Portimão

Head out from the harbour in Portimão and enjoy a 2-hour speed-boat cruise, where you'll be invited on a spectacular tour of the magical world of dolphins. Tucked into the hills overlooking the crystal-clear blue waters of the Atlantic Ocean, Alvor is a picturesque fishing village, with plenty to see and do. From restaurants serving fresh fish to shops selling clothes, pottery and local produce, Alvor is ideal for spending a few relaxing days soaking up the vibrant atmosphere or just decompressing on a paradisiac beach.
Take time out to explore the narrow cobbled streets with traditional whitewashed houses and colourful flower baskets, and stroll through the quaint fishing alleys that lead down to the harbour, where you can sit on one of many benches along its promenade watching fishermen unload their daily catch. Conveniently located just 20 minutes from Faro Airport, this is an idyllic base to explore other parts of the beautiful Algarve region.
