Your Destination

Made up of 7,107 islands, the Philippines is defined by its pristine beaches, vivid green rice fields, fiery volcanoes, and diverse culture. The entire area covers around 300,000 square kilometres, and is surrounded by the South China Sea to the west, the Philippine Sea to the east and the Celebes Sea to the south. Many mountains and active volcanoes dot the landscape, and craggy limestone cliffs and caves border the crystal clear waters and powder soft white sands. The religions, ethnicity, language and scenery varies hugely from island to island, resulting in an ever changing, multi layered experience of authentic Asia.

Dolphins (and Sea Turtles) of Bohol

Your Optional Excursions
At 05:30, you will be picked up at your hotel and transfer or walk to the shore where your local boat is waiting for you. With your motorized boat you will navigate the oceans where your local spotter will spot the playful Dolphins in the wild and if you are lucky a gigantic whale shark will show-up. Don’t worry this shark is very gentle and it won’t bother to taste you. After an hour or 2 enjoying the sight of the sea mammals, you will be taken to Balicasag Island for you to spot resident sea turtles and enjoy the rest of the day.

Many people in neighbouring island used to be hunters of whale shark but were educated and are now protectors of the sea creatures. Most of them are working as spotter and boatmen for tourists. You have the option to do snorkelling and swimming with sea turtles, a local guide will bring you to the spot where the sea turtles are residing, or scuba diving with the beautiful coral reefs, a variety of fishes and sea turtles. Lunch will be at the resort (Balicasag Island Dive Resort). At around 15:00 – 16:00, transfer back to your hotel.

Kayaking in Abatan River

Your Optional Excursions
Another amazing nature attraction in Bohol is the Abatan river, one of the three main rivers of Bohol. The Abatan River Community Life is being managed by a non-profit organization in cooperation with the local government. Grab your kayak and paddle your way to the small passages of the nipa swamp together with your guide. Along the way you may witness people harvesting nipa palms or fishermen at work. Visit the fish cages, acquaint yourself with the different mangrove species or just paddle around and enjoy nature. After the tour your guide will drop you off at your accommodation.
