Day 2: Manila - Pampanga province
Today you will enter the Intramuros district and then leave for the province of Pampanga, accompanied by a private English speaking driver. At 09.30 you will meet with your guide in the hotel lobby and discover the Intramuros neighborhood, the old Spanish colonial city. You will visit Casa Manila , an ancient colonial residence, San Augustin, the oldest church in Manila and the Silahis Center, a center for art and crafts. You will then take the road to the north to reach the province of Pampanga . On the way you will make a brief stop in Bacolor , where you will visit the church of San Guillermo. In 1995, four years after the eruption of Pinatubo, the lower part of the church was buried under 6 meters of lahar, a flow of mud that took four years to travel the thirty kilometers that separated Bacolor from Monte Pinatubo. After visiting the church, you will resume your journey to reach your accommodation at the foot of Mount Pinatubo. Alvin Bognot, an accredited guide who will accompany you up the mountain, will welcome you in his guesthouse for the night.
The Pinatubo is a volcano most famous in the world. Before the 1991 eruptionit was a quiet mountain, an extinct volcano in an isolated country, a stronghold of the Aetas tribe. The eruption of June 15, 1991 and the explosion of June 18 were the second largest eruptions recorded in the twentieth century, after that of Novarupta in Alaska in 1912. The mountain was leveled more than 250 meters, around which more than 10 billions of tons of magma and 20 million tons of sulfur. Later, on a perimeter of over 30 kilometers, a lunar landscape formed with imposing canyons carved by the lahars. From 1745 meters high, today the mountain is 1486 meters high. The former summit has given way to a caldera and a crater lake, which constitute the arrival point of the ascent. climbing the volcano is relatively easy and takes place in two phases: a first phase of a

You will be accompanied by a certified guide. After the lunch break, the bravest will continue to walk towards Tappia Falls . The height difference is significant and you will need to keep your balance on the low walls with the help of local guides. It will be a truly memorable experience.
