During this tour, participants will have the opportunity to visit the most interesting places of the city, like:Casco Antiguo: Founded in 1673, it is known as the Casco Viejo. This beautiful little area has several attractions that tourist shouldn’t miss and can easily cover in a walking tour of a few hours. A monument to the French entrepreneurs who began the Panama Canal stands at the bayside end of the Casco Viejo. There is also an adjacent art museum in the converted strong house, known as Las Bovedas, once used for storing gold. Other points of interest are the famed flat arch or Santo Domingo Church, the beautiful gold- plated altar of the San Jose Church, the Panama Canal Museum, the National Theater, the National Cathedral, the Presidential Palace and other numerous colonial churches and monuments.

Participants will have the opportunity to do a walking tour at the Casco Viejo section, walking by monuments such as the Plaza Bolivar, the San Francisco de Asis Church, Bolivar Palace and the National Theater; “Las Bovedas Promenade”, with one of the most spectacular views of Panama City. Panama City: The modern side of the City, the Banking District. The flash of skyscrapers in tropical sunlight and a beautiful horizon extends and is found in the turquoise blue water of the Pacific Ocean. The city is an important International Financial Center. We will walk the streets of the modern city; where we will be able to appreciate all the new constructions that are being carried out in the city and places of historical and tourist.

Miraflores Locks/Panama Canal: This classic experience brings you to the very best that Panama has to offer: The Panama Canal. Participants will be able to witness the magnificent Miraflores Locks and most probably, its operation. An expert canal guide will take us back in time to be part of it. What a wonderful way to experience this magnificent architectural masterpiece and to have a breathtaking view of the 8th wonder of the World. This tour will also include a visit to the Miraflores Locks Exhibits.

Butterfly Farm: These beautiful insects have been reproduced in a butterfly farm, in order to show visitors around 20 species of butterfly’s native to Panama and throughout the year of some 200 specie. 

Orchid Nursery: This is perhaps one of the few orchid nurseries, in Panama, with an educational purpose. Unlike commercial nurseries, here you can see a large number of wild species native to our country, including some miniature ones and the Panama a´s National Flower.

Planet Frogs: a garden that recreates almost perfect and natural, lush Panamanian rainforest. It is the new home to hundreds of frogs Darts native of tropical America, with more than 30 combinations of bright colors, where it will be possible to observe the complete cycle from mating, breeding, feeding and even territorial disputes between males. This educational exhibit ecological features a sprinkler irrigation system that simulates a highly realistic manner the thick fog of forests in these colorful frogs inhabit; the garden has about 35 species of plants, most of which accumulate water Bromeliads forming the perfect place for breeding of these amphibians.

Gatun Expedition: Enjoy a panoramic tour along the world famous Panama Canal. This trip will take you into the Gatun Lake, a major part of the Panama Canal, where you will see and learn about the fascinating tropical wildlife of the lake and the surrounding forest. You will explore some of the islands formed after the creation of which was once the largest artificial lake in the world. With a little luck and with the help of a naturalist guide, you can see crocodiles, caimans, sloths, monkeys and a host of birds native to the area.

Sloth Sanctuary: Gamboa Rainforest Reserve is a Hotel characterized by offering the visitor a unique space of contact with nature and this time with the support of the APPC has developed the Sloth’s Sanctuary which has a rehabilitation and training program for sloth that are injured by traffic accidents, sick and orphans due to forest fragmentation and reduction of their habitat are trained to return them to their place of origin and thus help increase the population of this important folivore. This program has two phases, the area of the enclosures are places where they are placed in pairs to exercise and learn to find their own food and the reintroduction process where they are released in an area of 1,000 square meters of open forest above, but protected at ground level with a wall 1.5 meters high, which pass from 3 to 6 months before being released.

Visitors will be able to witness the importance of this being that is in danger of extinction not only in our country, but throughout the Latin American region and in this way support the recovery of wildlife so vulnerable in our days.
