Norwegian Summer

Norway in summer reveals a landscape of extraordinary clarity and scale, where deep fjords carve through towering cliffs and waterfalls cascade into mirror-like waters. Endless daylight bathes wooden villages, mountain plateaus, and coastal towns in a soft, golden glow, creating an atmosphere that feels both invigorating and serene. From the quiet hum of nature to the freshness of crisp mountain air, every moment is shaped by space, light, and pure natural beauty.

Must-sees

  • Geirangerfjord: Cruise through dramatic fjord scenery framed by steep cliffs and cascading waterfalls.
  • Bergen: Explore colourful harbour houses, historic wharfs, and lively waterfront streets.
  • Lofoten Islands: Discover jagged peaks rising from the sea, fishing villages, and Arctic beaches.
  • Flåm Railway: Journey through one of the world’s most scenic train routes, crossing mountains and valleys.
  • Trolltunga: Hike to this iconic cliff formation offering breathtaking views over glacier-fed lakes.

Culinary culture

Norwegian cuisine highlights fresh, seasonal ingredients, from Arctic seafood and cured salmon to berries, cheeses, and rustic baked goods. Coastal restaurants and mountain lodges serve simple, refined dishes that reflect the purity of the landscape.

Dive deeper

Kayak through fjords, hike high mountain trails, or sail between islands under the midnight sun. Villages invite slow exploration, while nature offers endless opportunities for quiet reflection and adventure.

The currency is the Norwegian krone (NOK). Summer brings long daylight hours and mild temperatures, ideal for outdoor exploration. Distances can be vast, so combining road journeys, ferries, and domestic flights is often the best way to experience the country’s diverse regions.
