Your destinations

Marrakesh

Welcome to Marrakesh, the cultural heart of Morocco, where ancient traditions meet vibrant modern life. Discover the city's lively atmosphere, from the chaotic energy of Jemaa El Fna Square to the calm beauty of Bahia Palace, and immerse yourself in the rich colours, aromas, and sounds of the Medina’s bustling souks.

Must-sees:

  • Jemaa el-Fnaa Square: A lively square brimming with performers, musicians, and food stalls. At night, it transforms into a vibrant food market, offering a true taste of Moroccan cuisine.
  • Bahia Palace: A stunning example of Moroccan architecture, with intricate mosaics, sprawling courtyards, and peaceful gardens.
  • Saadian Tombs: The resting place of the Saadian dynasty rulers, these tombs are renowned for their stunning tilework and serene atmosphere, offering a glimpse into Morocco's royal past.

Culinary culture:

Moroccan cuisine is a celebration of bold spices and fresh, local ingredients. Traditional dishes like tagine, pastilla, and kefta are slow-cooked to perfection, allowing their flavours to develop over hours. Street food plays a huge part in Moroccan culinary culture, with stalls offering treats like kefta (spiced meatballs), sfenj (fried doughnuts), and msemmen (flaky flatbreads).

Dive deeper:

For a more serene escape, visit the Jardin Majorelle, a stunning botanical garden once owned by Yves Saint-Laurent, or take a trip to the Atlas Mountains to explore Berber villages and learn about the local argan oil production. End your day with a meal at one of Marrakesh's rooftop restaurants, where you can savour traditional tagine while watching the sun set over the city’s iconic mosques.

Good to know:

The best times to visit Marrakesh are in spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November), when temperatures are pleasant. The currency is the Moroccan dirham (MAD), and while credit cards are accepted in tourist areas, it’s advisable to carry cash for small purchases. Arabic and Berber are the official languages, though French is widely spoken, and English is becoming more common in tourist spots.

Merzouga

Set on the edge of the spectacular Erg Chebbi in southeastern Morocco, Merzouga is the country's iconic gateway to the Sahara Desert. Vast golden dunes stretch as far as the eye can see, creating an ever-changing landscape shaped by wind and light. Here, days are filled with unforgettable desert adventures, while evenings bring breathtaking sunsets, traditional Berber hospitality and some of the clearest star-filled skies in North Africa.

Must-sees / Must-do:

  • Erg Chebbi dunes: Wander across the towering dunes at sunrise or sunset, when the desert glows in shades of gold, amber and deep orange.
  • Camel trekking: Experience the timeless tradition of crossing the Sahara by camel and admire the endless beauty of the desert.
  • Desert camp experience: Spend a magical night beneath the stars, enjoying traditional music, local cuisine and authentic Berber hospitality.
  • Khamlia village: Visit this peaceful village, renowned for its vibrant Gnawa music and rich cultural heritage.

Culinary culture:

Merzouga showcases the rich flavours of southern Morocco, where fragrant tagines, fluffy couscous and freshly baked bread are accompanied by sweet mint tea. Dining beneath the stars in a traditional desert camp is an unforgettable experience, blending local cuisine with the warm hospitality for which the region is known.

Dive deeper:

Venture into the desert by four-wheel drive, try sandboarding down the golden dunes or visit Dayet Srij, a seasonal lake that attracts migratory birds, including flamingos when conditions allow. As night falls, the silence of the Sahara and its dazzling canopy of stars create an atmosphere unlike anywhere else.

Good to know:

Merzouga is typically reached by road as part of a journey through southern Morocco, often combined with Ouarzazate, the Dades Valley or Tinghir. Spring and autumn offer the most pleasant temperatures for exploring the desert, while summer days can be extremely hot and winter nights surprisingly cool. The local currency is the Moroccan dirham.

Agadir

Basked in year-round sunshine and cooled by Atlantic breezes, Agadir is Morocco’s coastal gem, a modern, relaxed alternative to the country’s bustling imperial cities. Here, palm-lined promenades stretch along crescent-shaped shores, where the rhythm of the waves sets the pace for lazy days and seaside strolls. Ideal for beach lovers, wellness seekers, and culture enthusiasts alike, Agadir promises a laid-back escape wrapped in warmth and Moroccan charm.

Must-sees:

  • Agadir Beach & Promenade: The city’s centrepiece, a wide, golden beach backed by stylish cafés, oceanfront restaurants, and a scenic promenade perfect for sunset walks.
  • Kasbah of Agadir Oufella: Perched above the city, these 16th-century ruins offer breathtaking views over the bay and the port, best visited at the golden hour.
  • Souk El Had: Dive into local life at this vibrant market of more than 6,000 stalls brimming with spices, handwoven rugs, ceramics, and colourful produce.
  • Paradise Valley: Just an hour inland lies this hidden oasis of palm-lined gorges, rock pools, and waterfalls, a serene escape into nature.
  • Taghazout: Once a sleepy fishing village, now a trendy surf spot with barefoot cafés, yoga retreats, and waves perfect for both beginners and pros.

Culinary culture:

Agadir’s cuisine is a delicious blend of Berber heritage and coastal bounty. Feast on freshly grilled sardines, fish tajines scented with cumin and preserved lemon, or snack on msemmen (Moroccan flatbreads) filled with herbs and olives. Don’t miss a spoonful of amlou, a heavenly almond, honey, and argan oil spread, or sip on fresh orange juice from a local stall for an energising treat under the sun.

Dive deeper:
Beyond its beaches and boulevards, Agadir invites travellers to slow down and discover the soul of southern Morocco. Wellness is woven into the city’s fabric, from Argan oil cooperatives where you can learn about this local elixir to traditional hammams offering rejuvenating spa rituals passed down through generations. Nature lovers can explore the nearby Souss-Massa National Park, home to rare bird species and sweeping dunes, while culture buffs might enjoy a visit to the Amazigh Heritage Museum, celebrating Berber art and identity.

Good to know:

With over 300 days of sunshine a year, Agadir is a reliable escape in any season. The local currency is the Moroccan dirham (MAD), and petit taxis are plentiful and budget-friendly. While Agadir is cosmopolitan and beachy, modest attire is still recommended when visiting traditional areas and nearby villages.
