Pick up from your hotel, Leave Oumnass and Marrakech behind and head towards the Atlantic coast of Essaouira. Your guide tells you about the history of the town and shows you characteristics of the 15th and 18th centuries, such as ramparts, the fishing port and harbor, Skala (market) and its quaint Medina.
Stroll through the picturesque blue and white town with the ocean in the background. Meander through its maze-like streets and explore its tranquil squares with white houses and street-side cafés. Your guide explains the Portuguese influence in the town – it was once called "Mogador" – and shows you the Portuguese-built medieval citadel.
It is then time to go to Skala, the municipal market. See countless artisans working in their workshops and the many arts that skilled craftsmen create. Walk through markets where stalls groan under the weight of colorful fruit and fresh vegetables, or simply wander through the harbor and witness the hive of activity at the water's edge.
If you choose to, enjoy a scrumptious lunch served at one of the many restaurants that line the coast. (Not included). Before heading back to Marrakech, your guide takes you to key points in the city, including the port, Medina – the old town filled with souks – and Mellah, a Jewish quarter.
Embark on a half-day excursion to the foot of the Atlas Mountains where you ride down trails featuring arid hills, oases, and rivers. Your reliable ATV carries you through lush hidden canyons to the Agafay Desert the Berber village of Oumnass.
After being conveniently picked up from your hotel, journey to the starting point at Lalla Takerkoust Lake which stretches for 4.3 miles (7 km). Meet your experienced guide and go through a thorough orientation to familiarize you with your vehicle and safety tips. Get equipped with goggles, hood, and helmet, then hop on your ATV and set off on your adventure.
You’ll travel from your hotel to Lalla Takerkoust Lake. Discover the beauty of this lake that stretches for 7 kilometers. Ride through wonderful eucalyptus forests and lush hidden canyons to the Agafay Desert.
Stop for a bite to enjoy refreshment by a Berber family home where your hosts are welcoming. Get a sense of the lives of the locals that has gone mostly unchanged for hundreds of years.
Then cross through the Agafay Desert, admiring arid hills that look like Saharan dunes. On the return to the hotel you can enjoy sublime views and perfect photo opportunities of the Atlas Mountains.
Set off for an excursion of the snow-capped Atlas Mountains, which serve as Marrakech's ever-present backdrop.
Following a morning pick-up from Riad Sougtani, and head out of the city by 4-wheel drive vehicle to begin your tour. Travelling through Morocco’s majestic countryside offers a welcome break from the hustle and bustle of Marrakech, and a rare glimpse into a more relaxed way of life in this magical part of the world. First stop at the panoramic view of the lake “Lalla Takerkoust”. Next, drive over the Kik Plateau (1800m), an unforgettable place with stunning views of the mountains and valleys and very popular with paragliders. Continue through Moulay Brahim Shrine and Asni Village to Sidi Fares, you will notice an amazing scenery change from saffron-colored fields to steeper slopes covered with oak and walnut trees and cut by river-filled gorges. Take a short walk in Sidi Fares area and visit a local Berber house. Enjoy a fresh mint tea with the hospitable family and see the smiling faces of happy locals living a lifestyle very different to Morocco’s city-folk, and gain insight into an ancestral way of living which many thought had disappeared long ago.
Pass through the natural park of Oukaimden, see shepherds tending flocks on isolated pastures, and catch glimpses of the tiny houses and immense boulders that dot the countryside. Take in views of peaks that soar to nearly 10,000 feet (3,048 meters) while blending with a deep-blue sky and providing a contrast to the desolate mountainside. Partake of a traditional lunch at La Kasbah of Ourika with amazing panoramic views from the restaurant overlooking the Toubkal Mountain and the Ourika River before heading back toward the mountain forests.
Experience the history and culture of Imperial Marrakech and see the city's most famous sites. Bargain for handicrafts in the souk and see famous landmarks like Koutoubia Minaret, El Bahia Palace, and The Medersa ben yousef.
Stop at the foot of the famous Koutoubia Mosque and Minaret, one of the masterpieces of Islamic architecture. Continue into the stunning 12th-century Kasbah area to see the distinctive carved gate, Bab Agnaou. See the 16th-century necropolis and tombs of the Saadien princes, the burial ground of the Royal family and a must-see for fans of Hispano-Mauresque craftsmanship and architecture.
Walk through the Mellah (Jewish Quarter) and visit the aristocratic El Bahia Palace to see the lush Moorish-style garden, marble paving, and cedar wood ceilings.
Have lunch in the stylish Riad Zaid. Enjoy its air conditioning, riad-style Moroccan decor, and ambiance. Dine on delicious Marrakech-style salad, chicken lemon tagine, fresh fruit, and the traditional mint tea. Vegetarian options are available on request.
After lunch, visit the 14th century Ben Youssef Medersa, one of the most beautiful buildings in Marrakech – with its subtle use of decoration, achieve through a balances combination of stucco & mosaic, marble and cedar wood, white marble basin & pillars.
Continue through the Medina and pass by many souks selling basketwork, dried fruit, and spices. Browse the goods and see handicrafts ranging from carpet, woven cloth, jewelry, lanterns, pottery, and babouches (Moroccan slippers).
Stroll through the famous Djemaa El Fnaa Square and take in the bustling atmosphere of snake charmers, singers, story tellers, and other performers.
