5-night road trip
Day 1: Arrival in Malta
Pick up your hire car and drive to Marfa in the north of the island to Labranda Riviera & Spa Hotel 4*.

Day 2: Valletta / Sliema ferries
After breakfast, set off to discover Valletta, the capital of Malta, a fortified city built in the 1500s.
Don't miss St John's Cathedral, a jewel of Baroque architecture, before visiting the Palace of the Grand Masters and its armoury, the Archaeology Museum and the Manoel Theatre.
Take a relaxing break in the Upper Barakka Gardens, where you can enjoy a panoramic view and sample a local speciality (Pastizzi and ftira). To get to Sliema for your boat cruise, take the ferry from Valletta to Sliema. This short 10-minute crossing will save you time and avoid traffic jams in this very busy area.

Day 3: Mosta, Mdina and the Dingli Cliffs
Head for Mosta, famous for its cathedral and huge Rotunda - both must-see sites. Not far from here are the magnificent botanical gardens of Saint Anton.
Then set off for Mdina, the Silent City - a fortified town perched on a hill. Stroll through its narrow medieval streets and enjoy panoramic views over the island. Just outside Mdina is Rabat where you can visit the catacombs of St Paul's.

Day 4: Marsaxlokk and Grotte Bleue / temples
Head for the south of the island to Marsaxlokk, a charming fishing village. Here you can admire the luzzus, the typical colourful Maltese boats, and stroll through the lively Sunday morning market.
A few kilometres away lies the picturesque Blue Grotto. A short boat trip takes you to its spectacular rock formations and deep blue waters. Head back up to the temples of Hagar Qim, a prehistoric site overlooking the Mediterranean, and Limestone Heritage, an old quarry.

Day 5: Gozo
Head to Cirkewwa pier, just a few minutes from your hotel, to catch the ferry to Gozo (crossing time approx. 30 minutes).
Once on the island, discover the prehistoric Ggantija temples, listed as a Unesco World Heritage site, and the Victoria citadel which offers a breathtaking view of the island. Stop at Ta'Pinu, and Gozo's idyllic beaches like Ramla Bay which is renowned for its distinctive red sand.

Head to Paradise Bay beach, close to your hotel, and then continue on to Magistral Park and Golden Bay. This is Malta's most popular beach, thanks to its breathtaking natural scenery.
You can also take a small ferry right in front of the hotel to the island of Comino and bathe the crystal-clear waters of the Blue Lagoon.
