Your Destination —
The beaches are also spectacular - sandy, wild in parts, and lapped by the warm turquoise waters of the Indian Ocean. 5% of all known animal and plant species can be found here, from the iconic Baobab trees to lemurs, colourful chameleons and an amazing variety of marine life including humpback whales.
The island is largely unspoiled by tourism too, and many parts are still uninhabited, so this is a great choice for those who want to get off the beaten track.
