9-night / 10-day Tour
DAY 1: ARRIVAL IN ANTANANARIVO
Arrival in Tana. You will be welcomed by your guide in the airport hall and then, transferred to the hotel. A small snack is offered to you during the journey.

DAY 2: ANTANANARIVO - ANTSIRABE
Have breakfast at the hotel and then, departure towards the south.
As soon as we leave Tana, the rice fields and the charming villages of the Highlands draw the landscape. In Ambatolampy, we take a break and discover the rather surprising work of the manufacturers of aluminium casseroles, the kind that can be found all over Madagascar. We stop for lunch in the village. We continue to Antsirabe. Furthermore, we take the time to visit the city and if you are interested, a ride in a rickshaw, THE mode of transportation of the Antsirabe people.

DAY 3: ANTSIRABE - RANOMAFANA
Still on the Nationale 7 road, we continue our progression towards the south. In the village of Ambositra, we will go to the shops of the Zafimaniry craftsmen, in search of the piece of carved wood or the square of marquetry, so finely worked. Walk in the village. Continuation to Ranomafana, we enter the Betsileo country. Here the road is more and more winding, we are towards the highest points of the High Plateaux of Madagascar. We branch off to the east and into the rainforest. Arrival in the late afternoon.

DAY 4: RANOMAFANA NATIONAL PARK - FIANARANTSOA
Visit of Ranomafana National Park. This site is one of the most beautiful that the rainforest of Madagascar can offer. Accompanied by our guide, we leave for a walking tour. Many species of lemurs are present such as the Golden Hapalemur, the Red-fronted Lemur or the Red-bellied Lemur. We also find rare and endangered species such as the Great Hapalemur. Botanically, the park is the genetic reservoir of some rare and endemic plant species, but also of many medicinal plants. It is necessary to bring a raincoat for the visit. We return on the RN7 to reach the city of Fianarantsoa. Visit of the old town in Fianarantsoa and at the end of the day, settle into your hotel room.

We soon leave the Highlands. In Ambalavao, visit of the Antemoro paper factory. This vegetable paper made from Avoha mulberry bark was introduced to Madagascar in the 15th century by the Middle East and is still made today using the same process by this small workshop in Ambalavao.
We drive along the Andringitra Massif, whose ridges we can see to the south. Here are the landscape changes completely. We leave Ihosy, a large town, before crossing the immense, arid and desolate plateau of the Horombe to Ranohira, at the gateway to the Isalo National Park.

DAY 6: VISIT OF THE ISALO NATIONAL PARK
We leave for a short transfer by vehicle to the foot of the Isalo cliff. With a small bag on our shoulder, we walk quietly through amazing landscapes made of canyons, ponds and rocks with magical erosions. The ruiniform massif of Isalo is a plateau of continental sandstone dating from the Jurassic period. Here, the rock has a very variable aspect, shape and composition. Nature has adapted to the dry climate. The park is an ecosystem of its own; it has an endemic rock vegetation of Aloe, Euphorbia, Pachypodium and Kalanchoe...
We have our picnic in the Tapia forest. Around the site, excursions are possible and a walk towards the summits allows us to enjoy a magnificent view.

DAY 7: RANOHIRA - TULEAR - IFATY
After breakfast, we continue towards the South on the road to the sea. Crossing Ilakaka, the sapphire village that attracted more than 1,000,000 people in the 2000s. The fever has now subsided. The Mozambique Channel is visible well before reaching Tulear. Lunch at a restaurant and a walk around the market, before heading to the beach at Ifaty.

DAY 8: STAY AT THE IFATY LAGOON
Free day on the beach. For those who would like to enjoy the sea: diving, pirogue ride with the Vezo fishermen, swimming or just lazing around can be an option. For the more courageous, hike inland to discover the strange vegetation of the south: euphorbias, baobabs, didiéracées, aloes... the thorny ones are kings.

DAY 9: IFATY - TULEAR - ANTANANARIVO

DAY 3: HIGHLANDS TREKKING
The Highlands! These are the emblematic landscapes of Madagascar. A unique mountainous and agricultural environment that is unlike any other. Here, you will see high red brick houses surrounded by balconies topped with thatched roofs, golden rice fields running in the valleys, causing an outpouring of various colours of shades of red, ochre, beige ...
This magnificent hike transports us to the heart of the rural world where the landscapes are full of colour and authenticity, under the benevolent eye of the locals who like to communicate with the passing traveller. We meet women carrying their buckets of water on their heads, farmers working their fields or rice paddies, sometimes blacksmiths whose techniques have not changed for centuries. You will have lunch in a "gite" in Betafo. Return to the hotel at the end of the day.

1hr30 Via Ferrata Climb (minimum 2 people)
Discover an exceptional panorama along the crests of the Isalo massif, with a breathtaking view of the two hotels. Made by climbing professionals from France, the route is for all those who want to live a unique experience in a vertiginous setting. The technical parts are secured by a cable sealed by pitons in the rock (500 metres of cable laid throughout the course), ensuring optimum safety. All equipment is provided (harness, helmet, lanyard, gloves) and you will be accompanied by a professional guide who will also help you discover the wealth of endemic flora and fauna.
Mangrove excursion by motorboat (2h30)
Departure from the beach just in front of the bungalows. 10 km of sailing along the coast, past the fishing village of Andrevo and along the Mangrove for several kilometres before reaching the most interesting site where we turn off the engines and paddle around to better appreciate the surrounding flora and fauna. 10 km return trip (minimum 2 participants).
