DAY 4: AMMAN - ROUTE OF THE KINGS - MADABA - MOUNT NEBO - KERAK - PETRA

Also known as the city of mosaics, Madaba is a Byzantine bishopric boasting 14 churches of major artistic value, which were also home to an extraordinary school of mosaic artists. You will then visit Mount Nebo, where Moses set out from the plains of Moab and climbed to the summit. Then visit the Crusader fortress built around 1140. The fortress lies to the south of a rocky plateau, and is a fine example of Crusader architecture combining European, Byzantine and Arab styles.

  • Transfer to Madaba through the King's Highway
  • Visits to Mount Nebo and Kerak
  • Night at Old Village
  • Breakfast, lunch, and dinner included

Day 5: Petra

The red city, carved out entirely of soft sandstone, was created by geology. What is reflected on the site today is the work of man over some ten thousand years. Nearly 800 monuments dot the 100 km2 of Petra. It is the Eighth Wonder of the World, declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, and is the most famous site in Jordan and the Middle East.

  • Transfer to Petra
  • Free time to explore
  • Night at Old Village
  • Breakfast, lunch, and dinner included

DAY 6: PETRA - LITTLE PETRA - WADI RUM

If Petra is the result of the combined efforts of man and nature, the cliffs, peaks, and valleys of Wadi Rum owe their serene beauty and overwhelming grandeur to no one but themselves, according to T. E. Lawrence. This site is one of the high points of the Great Arab Revolt, magnified by director David Lean in one of the most impressive scenes in his film Lawrence of Arabia.

  • Transfers to Little Petra and Wadi Rum
  • Zarb dinner and typical Bedouin desert camp
  • Night at Mazayen
  • Breakfast, lunch, and dinner included

DAY 7: WADI RUM - AQABA

Aqaba is a splendid seaside resort town in Jordan, a particularly sunny region where you can relax and enjoy the splendid marine scenery. This town is the ideal place for holidaymakers to relax because of its greatest treasure, the Red Sea.

  • Night at Movenpick Tala Bay
  • Breakfast, lunch, and dinner included

DAY 8: AQABA - DEAD SEA

The Dead Sea is the lowest point on earth at 417 metres below sea level. Rich in minerals, this water is reputed to make people literally float due to its salt content. The Dead Sea is not just a tourist stop, but a place to relax and bathe on the shores of this extraordinary sea.

  • Transfer to the Dead Sea

  • Breakfast, lunch, and dinner included
