Your Itinerary In Detail —
Day 1 (Friday): Amman
Arrive at the Queen Alia International Airport where you will meet with our representative who will transfer you to the hotel in Amman. Dinner and overnight stay.
Day 2 (Saturday): Half day of traditional tasting
After breakfast, you will explore downtown Amman by foot. Stop at the downtown bakery near the Bayader bus station. Here, you will taste one of Jordan's best traditional desserts (ASABEA ZAINAB AND AWWAMEH).
Next, walk to Hussini Mosque, continue to the vegetable market. You will have lunch in a restaurant, the most traditional and best known in the capital (Hashem Restaurant) where you will taste humus and falafel, then go to Habiba for some Kunafa (a sweet pastry made from sugar-based syrup called attar), walk to a spot where you can drink delicious juice followed by a visit to the Roman Theatre. Return to the hotel.
Dinner & overnight stay.
Day 3 (Sunday): Amman - Desert Castle
After breakfast, depart for the Desert Castle, where you will have lunch. The first castle visited is Qasr Al-Kharaneh, located 55 km from Amman. It is probably the only one that had a military function at first, as its architecture suggests.
Qasr Amra is located 26 km southwest of Azraq, along the main road. Qasr Amra occupies an island that was formed in the bed of a Wadi that is almost always dry. This small, well-preserved castle has clean lines and rounded contours, its blond stone blending into the desert heat.
Qasr Amra was built at the beginning of the 8th century by the Caliph Walid I, a great lover of hunting, poetry and other pleasures. Qasr Al Azraq was badly affected by an earthquake in 1927, the castle remains however magnificent. The inscription above the main entrance dates the renovation to the 13th century, the probable date of the construction of the mosque in the centre of the courtyard.
Return to Amman for a visit of the capital of the Hashemite kingdom. Between the eastern desert and the Jordan Valley, Amman is home to a good million inhabitants. Entirely built in a beige white limestone, the city is an aggregate of cream-coloured cubes, gilded by the sun.
From the top of the citadel, don't miss the superb view of the lower city. But before going down there, a visit to the Archaeological Museum, the temple of Hercules and the Umayyad Palace is a must. Then, a short tour of the lower city, which has preserved a beautiful Greco-Roman Theatre, which can accommodate about six thousand spectators. Return to the hotel.
Dinner and overnight stay.
Day 4 (Monday): Jerash & Aljoun
Fuel up on breakfast at the hotel and depart to Jerash (lunch included). The ancient city of Jerash or Gerasa is about 45 km from Amman.
It is the second great site of Jordan after Petra. Today, it is considered one of the best preserved Roman provincial cities in the Near East. Hidden under the sand for several centuries before being discovered and restored over 70 years. The city was built entirely of pinkish-orange limestone, which is magnified by the sun's rays at dawn and at sunset.
The heyday of Gerasa dates from the 2nd and 3rd centuries. Jerash is the epitome of Roman municipal planning, extensive and formal, throughout the Middle East. It is adorned with cobbled, colonnaded streets, huge hilltop temples, delightful theatres, spacious public squares, baths, fountains and walls pierced by towers and gates.
After lunch, continue to Ajloun this city has a very impressive Fortress (Qalaat al Rabad), nestled on top of a mountain, built in the 12th century, at the time of Saladin, to defend the area and control the local iron mines as well as to prevent the Crusaders from crossing to Jerusalem. From the top, a superb view of the Jordan Valley. Return to Amman.
Dinner & overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 5 (Tuesday): Iraq El Amir, Dead Sea - Amman
Breakfast at the hotel and depart towards the west of Amman to Iraq El Amir and its Hellenistic Castle (2nd Century BC). This amazing building is inspired by Greek and Oriental architecture and looks like a Roman palace. Drive to the Dead Sea for lunch and a swim. One of the most spectacular natural and spiritual landscapes in the world, the Dead Sea marks the lowest point on Earth. Return to the hotel for an overnight stay.
Day 6 (Wednesday): Kings Road - Madaba - Nebo - Kerak - Petra
Breakfast at the hotel drive along the 2,000-year-old Kings Highway; the ancient road mentioned in the Bible, which links prehistoric villages from the Stone Age and biblical towns. Stop at Madaba, ‘The City of Mosaics’; 30 km south of Amman. Visit the town’s main attraction, the Greek Orthodox Church of St. George, where the famous 6th Century Byzantine mosaic map of the Holy Land and other biblical sites are found.
Proceed to Mt. Nebo, known as the burial place of Prophet Moses. The mountain, which rises to 840 m altitude, offers a spectacular view of the Holy Land. Continue driving via the King's Highway, which links prehistoric villages from the Stone Age, and biblical towns. In Kerak, you will visit the fortress and have lunch. Proceed to Petra for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 7 (Thursday): Petra La Rose - Wadi Rum
Breakfast at the hotel and departure for a full-day tour of Petra. The pink city of "Petra", "Eighth Wonder of the World and UNESCO World Heritage Site", is the most famous site in Jordan and arguably in the Middle East. Cross the Siq, a long and narrow fault line caused by a prehistoric earthquake. At the end of the Siq appears Petra's most majestic monument, "Al Khazneh" or the "Treasury" with its Greco-Roman decoration. Beyond the Treasury are hundreds of sculpted buildings, temples, royal tombs, houses, burial chambers and houses, party halls, baths, monumental staircases, arched doors, cobbled streets and, above all, the Roman Theatre with seating for around 3000.
You will cross the Roman Cardo and visit the Qasr El Bint, the only temple still standing and in a good state. Lunch at the site's restaurant. In the afternoon, climb to Mount El Deir or visit the Monastery (optional).
A two-hour drive will take you to your next destination. Stunning in its natural beauty, Wadi Rum epitomises the romance of the desert. With its "moonscape" of ancient valleys and towering sandstone mountains rising out of the sand, Wadi Rum is also home to several Bedouin tribes who live in scattered camps throughout the area. Wadi Rum's "overnight" experience is unlike any other! Where you can also experience the joy of sleeping under the stars and sampling food that reflects true Bedouin generosity and local hospitality. Dinner and overnight stay.
Day 8 (Friday): Wadi Rum & Departure from Amman
Enjoy your last breakfast, and prepare yourself for a 4x4 ride in the desert for about an hour and a half. Dust off- and hop into your final transfer to the airport. Benefit from assistance with formalities for a smooth departure from Jordan. End of services.

Jordan
Full to the brim with epic scenery, ancient history, captivating cities and bucketlist attractions, Jordan is a popular tourist destination that offers its guests a true immersion into the charms of the Middle East.
While Jordan offers a variety of spectacular UNESCO World Heritage Sites, none are more beloved than Petra, a fascinating archaeological city that sits within a mountain gorge and features beautiful 'rose-tinted' stone. Frequently referred to as one of the seven new Wonders of the World, this architectural masterpiece is a must-stop spot on any tourist's itinerary in Jordan.
For those hoping to escape the arid climate of the desert, we recommend taking advantage of Jordan's coastline with a visit to the Dead Sea. Thanks to the incredibly high salt quantities in the water, here, you can float atop the waves, make the most of the natural minerals and their healing properties and enjoy a well deserved rest, away from the hustle and bustle of daily life!
