Vicenza —
The historic centre of Vicenza has been declared a Unesco World Heritage Site thanks to the works of the 16th-century architect Palladio. Walking through the city, you can visit the Olympic Theatre, Piazza dei Signori, the Basilica Palladiana, Villa Valmarana ai Nani, the Salvi Gardens, the Loggia Valmarana, the Palazzo Chiericati art gallery, the Church of Santa Corona, Parco Querini, the Jewellery Museum and much more. A trip to Vicenza means history, art, and splendid nature, but also excellent culinary products and traditions, such as the famous Baccalà alla Vicentina and many other local products, including grappa, cheese and salami.
Vicenza is also an important economic centre and hosts various trade fairs of international importance. Padua, Venice, Verona and the spa area of Abano and Montegrotto Terme are within easy reach from here.
