An hour’s drive away, Assisi is a similarly charming Medieval hilltop town, filled with ancient alleys and quaint squares, while the town’s magnificent basilica offers stunning views over the surrounding valley.

 

The hub of this region is Perugia, which dates back to the Etruscan period.
