DAY 2: TERME DI REDI

Today, why not visit Terme di Redi? A modern spa complex offering a wide range of wellness treatments, thermal baths and saunas. Enjoy a rejuvenating thermal journey, taking advantage of the beneficial properties of Montecatini's waters. After spending the morning at the spa, take a stroll in the higher part of town, Montecatini Alto. You can take the historic cable car to the top of the hill, from where you will have a panoramic view of the entire valley. Here you can visit the medieval village with its narrow streets, Piazza Giusti and the bell tower.

In the afternoon, we recommend a visit to the city of Lucca: visit the Torre delle Ore, of which we recommend a climb to the top to admire the panorama of the city; visit the Cathedral of San Martino, the Cathedral of Lucca, the tower of Giungi and take a walk on the walls of Lucca.

DAY 1: ARRIVAL IN MONTECATINI TERME

We recommend a visit to Montecatini Alto, a hamlet of Montecatini Terme, located at the top of a hill at an altitude of almost 300 metres. It is a small hamlet with just over 400 inhabitants, but it is definitely worth a visit. If only to take a ride on the Montecatini Terme cable car, which was inaugurated in 1898. A ride takes just a few minutes and takes you back in time. It also gives you the chance to admire the entire Montecatini valley from above.

A visit to the ‘Uffizi Museum’ should not be missed either. Your Destinations

Tuscany

Overflowing with artistic masterpieces, extraordinary architecture and a thrilling history that spans from the Etruscans to the Romans and the Renaissance, Tuscany is a breathtaking holiday destination that promises a never-ending list of things to do, places to see and rolling hills to explore.

A holiday to Tuscany comes with many possibilities. The capital of the region, Florence, draws in millions of tourists each year, all of whom come in search of promised romance and charm on the city's narrow, cobbled streets, which have remained unchanged for hundreds of years. Nestled on the banks of the Arno river, this UNESCO World Heritage Site is a prime place to indulge in quality, Tuscan produce, soak up rich culture, and feast on some of the world's finest art.

One of Tuscany's other main draws is its verdant countryside, where rustic vineyards, peaceful olive groves and quaint villages can be found in abundance. Here, a stroll in the hills can easily result in a stop in one of Italy's most authentic and sustainable trattorias, where local, seasonal dishes are sure to delight alongside delicious, full-bodied wine.

Cinque Terre

Nestled along the Italian Riviera, Cinque Terre is a gorgeous region comprised of five colourful cliffside villages that are surrounded by dramatic hills and vineyards. A UNESCO World Heritage Site, this 15 km stretch of coastline is well known for its incredible hiking trails, picture-perfect views, and quaint village atmosphere, and makes for a memorable Italian coastal break!

The area’s five main villages all offer something different for visitors, and if you have the time, it’s worth visiting them all - the dedicated Cinque Terre train from La Spezia runs once an hour, and makes stops at them all. Riomaggiore, the first stop on the line, is the largest, with a clifftop medieval castle; the next stop, Manarola, is the place to try the Cinque Terre’s wine, Sciacchetrà, while further down Corniglia is unique in that it does not have direct access to the sea, instead of being perched atop a dramatic cliff. Vernazza has a romantic harbour, and Monterosso offers visitors a charming beach.

Along the coast, sample Pasta alla Genovese, with the region’s delicious pesto, or some traditional focaccia; or, discover some of the equally charming towns along the Ligurian coastline. La Spezia features a spacious port and plenty of charming trattorias, while Levanto is on the very cusp of Cinque Terre, and is the ideal starting point for a long hike along the coast.
