In the north-east, Mount Etna with its fertile slopes and valleys supports a number of vineyards. In the south-east there are the beautiful forest-covered mountains; the landscape characterised by soft hills, with vineyards, olive groves, almond trees, citrus and the characteristic carob trees.
To the west the landscape becomes gentler with soft, rolling hills, and it is here one finds long sandy beaches. The weather is mild all year round and temperatures will not normally go below 15 degrees, even in the coldest months.
Sicily has many lovely sandy beaches and a wealth of holiday towns and villages. Situated on the waterfront near Taormina, Giardini-Naxos is one of the most sophisticated seaside towns in Sicily and the sandy beach is considered one of the best on the island.

Located in the old, historic quarter, the luxury 5-star Hotel Imperiale sits amongst the twisting medieval streets of Taormina, close to the Greek Theatre. Its location, high up in the town, affords the Imperiale panoramic views of the coastline, stretching from the Capo S. Alessio, as far as the Bay of Naxos. A short walk will take you to the Corso Umberto, Taormina's main promenade.
The Hotel Imperiale was restored in 2009 to its original splendour by architect Rosario Picciotto, who has managed to create a unique and distinctive hotel; a creative blend of the contemporary with the traditional. The extensive use of lava stone, together with rich furnishings, has resulted in a harmony of style, which perfectly combines the old with the new.

You may choose between a Superior Sea View Room or a Deluxe Sea View Room.
These rooms provide a singular view of the Bay of Naxos, the Greek Theatre, the roofs of Taormina and the hotel's pool. Elegant and comfortable with approximately 22 m², they offer a small balcony. All are elegantly furnished in a contemporary style, maintaining certain traditional elements of Sicilian character.
Rooms are decorated similarly to Superior Rooms and also include a balcony with views towards the Bay of Naxos, the Greek Theatre, the roofs of Taormina and the hotel's pool. Yet they provide more space of 25 m², perfect for those seeking that extra bit of comfort.

For dinner, Ristorante Anfiteatro offers a wide menu of regional cuisine with a modern twist, accompanied by fine, local and international wines. During the summer months guests can enjoy dining under the stars on the panoramic Roof Campari Terrace.
The exclusive Roof Terrace covers an area of around 500m² and is designed for total rest and recuperation. Here guests can enjoy romantic al fresco dinners and exclusive aperitifs at the Champagnerie Clos des Goisses. Overlooking the Mediterranean, the Terrace affords guests a 360° view of the coastline.

The swimming pool is surrounded by a large terrace with panoramic views over the town centre and coastline and comes complete with hydro-massage chairs, sun-loungers, sofas and large parasols. The pool has water-jets for massage and counter current swimming.
A free shuttle is provided to the beaches of Taormina Mare, 2km away. The hotel can arrange for a variety of water-sports, including private boat excursions. Other services include tourist guides and personal shoppers.
