Castello di Velona Resort 5* —

Standing above the old Via Clodia, which connected southern Etruria to Rome, this castle hotel was built as a medieval fortress in the 11th century.

The watchtower remains intact from the 12th century, as a reminder of the old rivalry between Siena and Florence, and the rear part of the castle is from the late medieval period.

Every space within this historic hotel has been designed with the sun in mind and enjoying its warm rise, shine and setting throughout the day. 

Head to the entrance from the North Tower or to the breakfast terrace to the east to catch your glimpse - or feel its heat from the spa zone or swimming pools.
