The "Citta Bianca" is a traditional southern Italy town with narrow, rustic streets, and many traditionally styled cafés, restaurants and shops. The breathless landscape on the lower valley and the blue sea suddenly opens when turning the Old Town corners.
The Old Town centre, named Terra, is place steeped in history and a maze of medieval architecture and charm. Riddled with old palaces and churches, this town is exalted by the rich, white stone that has been used in much of its development.
Puglia offers much to admire from Mattinata towards Vieste, the coasts offer ever-changing glimpses, showing narrow bays that end in small coves and beaches, dominated by high, white cliffs, as in the suggestive Bay of Vignanotica.
Natural gorges easily accessible by sea, leads into breathtaking caves with the most interesting names and forms: Smuggler's Cave, Grotta dei Contrabbandieri, Two Eyes Cave, Siren's Cave Bell Cave.
The area of the Gargano presents unique landscape, flora and fauna elements and unique is also the habitat of the Gargano National Park.
