Your Optional Excursions

Naples Walking Tour & Street Food Experience

Your Optional Excursions

"Vedi Napoli e poi muori” is one of the most famous quotes about the  beloved town of Naples. Filled with artists, poets, and musicians, Naples has so much to live for that you can't miss a visit discovering its history and traditional cuisine! With a dedicated guide you can dispel any curiosity, discover its mysteries and of course taste the delicious and traditional street food!

Duomo di Napoli
Your guided tour of the historical city centre starts from here! The Cathedral of Naples is named "cattedrale di Santa Maria Assunta '' but everyone knows it as the "Duomo of San Gennaro ''.

Via dei Tribunali
Walking along Via Dei Tribunali you'll be completely immersed in one of  Naples' most colourful and unique atmospheres. There are shops, restaurants, cafes and many little boutiques all around you. Here you'll taste the famous Tarallo Napoletano (a spicy salted cookie) at the oldest factory of the city and choose your favourite flavour.

Via San Gregorio Armeno
In the historical centre of Naples, we will visit the San Gregorio Armeno Alley also called in Italian "la strada dei presepi". You will find detailed copies of pizzerias, fruit markets, all household objects, gastronomic delights, exotic animals, and sometimes even caricatured politicians and football players. All hand made from local artisans. Visiting one of the oldest factories of San Gregorio you'll be gifted with a typical lucky charm: The Napolitan Corno!

Chiesa di Santa Chiara
The Basilica of Santa Chiara is a Gothic Church located in the Square of San Domenico Maggiore. It's the ideal place to escape from the noise of the city; the complex has a beautiful monastery, a basilica and a small museum with a religious library.

Spaccanapoli
Spaccanapoli is the straight and narrow main street that traverses the old, historic centre of the city. The name is a popular usage and means, literally, "Naples splitter", in fact it is a very long road and from above it seems to divide the city in two.

Piazza San Domenico Maggiore
You will continue passing through the square of San Domenico Maggiore Square and can taste a typical street food, "cuoppo napoletano", a paper horn filled with fried delights. Next, visit Teatro San Carlo, a wonderful theatre ordered to be constructed from King Charles III of Bourbon decades before the birth of the Scala in Milan. It is the oldest working opera house in the world.

Galleria Umberto I
The Galleria Umberto I was built at the end of the 19th century as part of a long project to rebuild and renovate the city of Naples. It is a shopping arcade crowned with a domed glass and a steel roof, elegantly decorated with murals and sculptures. A peaceful escape from the hustle and bustle of the city, and well worth a visit.

Piazza del Plebiscito
Piazza del Plebiscito is, without doubts, one of the most beautiful squares of Italy. It is a noble semicircular square built by the model of the Pantheon in Rome, embraced by a neoclassical colonnade. The two equestrian statues located in front of the church, represent Ferdinand I of Bourbon and Charles III of Bourbon, a masterpiece of Antonio Canova.

Piazza del Gesu Nuovo
Surrounded by the Chiesa del Gesù Nuovo and the Basilica di Santa Chiara, Piazza del Gesu Nuovo is one of Naples' most beautiful squares. It hosts the Church of the Gesu Nuovo with its unsightly façade which was originally part of a late 15th-century palace, covered with pyramidal extrusions in dark basalt. In the middle of the square stands the Guglia dell' Immacolata; a wild pinnacle that melts rococo and gothic art, decorated with statues of saints, putti and frills.

Via Toledo
Via Toledo has always been considered the most important avenue of Naples, connecting the area of the Decumani to Piazza del Plebiscito. On the right side of via Toledo develops the narrow streets of the Spanish Quarters, where the colours, smells and flavours trace the history of Naples. Via Toledo also houses one of the most beautiful subway stations in the world, Toledo Station, also named the "station of art".

Dulcis in fundo (as said in Italian)...time for a pizza! Not the "regular" one but Piazza Poretafoglio, which is a pizza folded on itself in one of the best pizzerias of Italy. Last but not least, time for dessert...a sfogliatella, baba and a delicious espresso in Piazza Plebiscito!

Join us on a breathtaking tour to visit the beauties of the Amalfi Coast: Positano, Amalfi and Ravello. Together with your guide, you will spend an unforgettable day discovering the fun facts and history of the Amalfi Coast.

The Itinerary will be the following:

- The Sirenusas, also known as the Gallos are an archipelago of little islands off the Amalfi Coast between Isle of Capri and 6 km southwest of Salerno's Positano. They are part of the Campanian Archipelago.

From the bus you will have a view on the archipelago "floating" on the blue sea of the Gulf.

- Positano is a cliffside village on southern Italy's Amalfi Coast. It's a well-known holiday destination with a pebble beachfront and steep, narrow streets lined with boutiques and cafes. Its Chiesa di Santa Maria Assunta features a majolica-tiled dome and a 13th-century Byzantine icon of the Virgin Mary.

The Church of Santa Maria Assunta, dominates the beach in Positano with its unique maiolica cupola. Check out the inside to admire the architecture, the richly decorated archway and the Bizantine "Madonna". Positano’s glamorous beaches, breathtakingly gorgeous seascapes, and boutique-filled historic centre, it's easy to see why it is the most sought after destination on the Amalfi Coast. Take a moment to relax on the beach to admire the stunning panorama of the Gulf.

- Transfer by boat from Positano to Amalfi  - Summer season only!

- Amalfi was an Ancient Maritime Republic, nowadays a UNESCO Heritage Site. Explore the magnificent Cathedral dominating the square, taste a Santa Rosa pastry or relax on the beach.

- The Cathedral of Saint Andrews stands on a great flight of steps leading up from the main Square. Its finely decorated façade recalls the Byzantine art and northern architecture. During your free time, check out the interior and the guide will be happy to help you with the tickets.

- Ravello is the hidden gem of the Amalfi Coast. In the past few years, it has hosted actors, singers, poets and politicians. Naples

The regional capital of Campania and one of the oldest continuously inhabited urban areas in the world, Naples truly encapsulates the Italian spirit. The birthplace of pizza, home to a UNESCO World Heritage city centre, and full of narrow, cobbled streets brimming with locals and tourists - this city is full of life.

For foodies, Naples is a true heaven. Boasting the most Michelin-stars of any Italian city, Naples is also the birthplace of the classic Neapolitan pizza; indeed, Antica Pizzeria Port'Alba is believed to be the oldest pizzeria in the world, where you can sample the simple but delicious pizza Margherita. Visitors to the city can also take a day trip to the ancient site of Pompeii - which needs little introduction - as well as Herculaneum, a richer town that similarly perished in the eruption but left grander ruins and mosaics.

Back in the city, the National Archaeological Museum is the place to go to explore more of the region’s Roman history, or experience the city’s striking religious history in Santa Maria delle Anime del Purgatorio ad Arco, a haunting church filled with human skulls. As the night draws in, head to the Lungomare (seafront) to admire the sunset over the sea, and perhaps take a break from pizza with fresh seafood from one of the waterfront restaurants.

During your stay, why not visit the nearby islands of Ischia, Ponza, Capri & Procida by boat.
