The only four-star hotel in the historic centre of Modena, Hotel Canalgrande 4* is ideally located in the ancient Palazzo Schedoni dating back to 1530. It was originally designed to be a convent, however, it later became the property of Caterina Bonafini, famous for her cultural salon.

 

The palace today is characterised by sober architectural lines on the neoclassicist exterior that contrasts with the opulent rococo decor of the interior, dedicated to the Este family and the French ruling house.
