Sail along the coast to the Grotta del Bue Marino for an unforgettable swim in brilliant blue waters. Next, head to the chimneys of Montenassari and Giafante and gaze up at the Canna, a unique volcano rock standing 85m high.
Once at the port, visit the prehistoric village of Capo Graziano. In the early afternoon, depart for Alicudi, which is the least populated island of the archipelago and perfectly preserved from mass tourism. A walk along the dusty mule track will take you back in time to cool down and enjoy another refreshing swim. Return to Lipari once again in the late afternoon.
DAY 6 : DEPARTURE / PANAREA AND STROMBOLI (2PM - 10PM)
If choosing the 5-night tour, today is the day to pack up and head back home. Enjoy a final breakfast before leaving for the port of Lipari. Take a shared transfer back to Catania Airport at around 8am, 10am, 1pm, or 3pm.
Arrive at Calajunco, famous for delightfully clear waters, and on Capo Milazzese try to spot the remains of a prehistoric Bronze Age village. Next, discover the beautiful Cala Zimmari, where the longest sandy beach on the island is located. Once past the beach, admire its many surrounding islets. From the port of San Pietro there are several walks venturing further in land, perfect for discovering picturesque corners and enchanting views. Don’t forget to visit the vibrant boutiques, restaurants, bars, and small nearby villages.
Depart for Stromboli and pass the wondrous islets of Basiluzzo and Spinazzola. Peer out at Iddu, the most active volcano in the world and a beacon of the Mediterranean. Arrive at the port of Scari and choose the perfect way to pass the afternoon: in the turquoise waters of the salty sea, exploring little beaches and coves, or walking through the colourful town to a terrace in front of the charming church of San Vincenzo. Stop here to enjoy a spot of people-watching with splendid views of Strombolicchio.
Continue on to the famous house where Ingrid Bergman and Rossellini lived during the filming of the film 'Stromboli'. In the early evening, arrive at Strombolicchio, a small island in the shape of a medieval castle, emerging at a height of 43 metres and topped by a lighthouse. End the day at the base of Sciara del Fuoco, a steep slope criss-crossed by lava streams, and marvel at the spectacular eruptions of this volcano in perpetual activity. Finally, leave Sciara and return to Lipari, where the trip concludes at around 10pm.
