Your Itinerary in Detail —
Day 1: Arrival in Como
Accommodation at the Hotel NH Lecco. Free time to visit the city of Como: the cathedral, the church of Sant'Abbondio, Palazzo Broletto. If you have time, take the funicular railway from Como to Brumate and enjoy a magnificent view of the entire panorama of Como. Overnight stay at the NH Lecco Hotel.
Day 2
Breakfast at the hotel
After breakfast, we recommend a visit to the Villa Carlotta. Drive through the former hamlet of Tremezzo to Villa Carlotta. The villa is in a particularly privileged location overlooking Lake Como. It is known for its enchanting location, but also for its botanical garden. The building dates back to 1600 and was built by Giorgio Clerici. Incredibly, some of Canova's small sculptures can still be found in the Italian-style gardens surrounding the house. In the botanical garden, you can admire up to 150 different species of azalea. Return to the hotel, dinner and overnight stay.
Day 3: Free time in Baveno and Intra
Breakfast at the hotel. After breakfast departure for Baveno. Free time for a walk in Baveno and Intra. Overnight stay at Hotel Rosa.
Day 4: Breakfast at the hotel. A day dedicated to visiting Lake Maggiore, the westernmost of the three great pre-alpine lakes. The mild climate, both in summer and winter, has favoured the development of Mediterranean-type vegetation, although it is easy to find exotic plants in the gardens. From Stresa, depart by boat to visit the Borromean Islands (Isola Madre and Isola Bella), where the Borromeo family residences are located, containing priceless works of art and rich gardens that are a classic example of an Italian garden of the period. On the way back from visiting the islands, it is recommended to walk along the lakefront towards Pallanza and Intra where, at the Punta della Castagnola, stands Villa Taranto with its strikingly beautiful park covering an area of 20 hectares with avenues, waterfalls, fountains and panoramic terraces. Dinner and overnight stay in a hotel.
Day 5: Breakfast at the hotel. Along the way, an excursion to Lake Orta (27 km) is recommended; the 1491 Sacro Monte Sanctuary complex is worth a visit. Once in Orta San Giulio, a boat trip to the island of San Giulio is recommended for a visit to the Roman basilica. Return to Stresa and overnight stay in a hotel.
Day 6: Breakfast and end of services.
For the 7-night tour:
You will have free time for the last 2 days at Lake Maggiore before returning home.

Your destinations —
Lake Como
Often referred to as the ‘Italian Lake District’, Lombardy is a varied region filled with stylish cities, stunning countryside, and breathtaking mountains. As Lombardy is located in the north of Italy, hugging the border with Switzerland, visitors to this region might be tempted to congregate in Milan, its capital. However, when leaving the city, there is so much to be found in the mountainous regions to the north. Between Lake Como, Lake Maggiore, and Lake Garda there are a wealth of options for a lakeside break.
In the shadow of the snow-covered Rhaetian Alps, Lake Como is home to sumptuous villas with cascading, luscious gardens, while a trip to Lake Maggiore offers unforgettable views of the tranquil Borromean Islands. On the shores of Lake Garda, Gardone Riviera is a laid-back tourist resort with a charming promenade and plenty of opportunities to take a pleasure cruise across the lake.
If you’re hankering for a city trip, Milan offers it all - the birthplace of some of the world’s foremost fashion houses and home to a stunning Gothic Cathedral. Don’t miss the chance to see Leonardo da Vinci’s iconic mural The Last Supper, housed in the Convent of Santa Maria delle Grazie in the city.
Lake Maggiore
Lake Maggiore, or Lago Maggiore, is an ideal destination to relax surrounded by magnificent nature.
It is no coincidence that the region of Lake Maggiore has been chosen by famous writers and poets, such as Dickens, Stendhal, Flaubert and Hemingway, to stimulate their inspiration.
With its islands, its flowery coasts, its palaces, its villages and its majestic alpine mountains, Lake Maggiore offers a sumptuous and romantic setting for your holidays.
