Your Destination —
Framed by charming countryside filled with olive groves, the Itria Valley's coast is dotted with spectacular rocky outcrops and hidden sandy bays. Home to popular destinations such as Alberobello, this area has much to offer tourists interested just as much in wine and local cuisine as picturesque landscapes and charming Trulli houses.
In Fasano, the brilliant white of the buildings in the historic town centre, known locally as U’mbracchie, is both a beautiful sight and provides welcome respite from the heat in high summer. Fasano is filled with arches, portals and narrow streets carved out in white limestone, tiny chapels such as that of Santa Maria della Grazia and larger churches like the Maria Santissima del Rosario. Explore the elegant Piazza Ciaia, situated along stately buildings including the sumptuous Palazzo del Balì, the Great Clock and the ancient convent known as Portici delle Teresiane. The historic ‘masserie’, old farmhouses built on the surrounding countryside, add to the romantic atmosphere of this idyllic spot.
