Your Destination —
Though it's very close to Milan, Como is more like another world. It is simply beautiful, seen from any side: by strolling along its historical centre, from the lake shore and from Brunate, on the top of the mountain, after a funicular ride. Como is close: you can reach the town in less than ten minutes by boat (the pier is just around the corner).
Como City Centre
Como has the relaxed rhythm of a small town with its tea-rooms, pastry shops, boutiques and art exhibitions, but it also offers the services of a big urban centre, when required.
The centre lies at the extremity of the south-western branch of the lake, in a particularly strategic geographical position close to the Swiss border town of Chiasso. Como boasts a superb Cathedral, the greatest monument of the city in Gothic and Lornbard-Renaissance styles.
Villa del Balbianello
Situated on the Lavedo promontory in the central and most beautiful part of the Lake. The villa commands views of all three branches of the lake.
Located on the southern side of the Alps, the uniquely beautiful landscape with 25 crystal clear mountains, lakes, forests and majestic glaciers is an ideal setting for its natural health Spa Centre.
St. Moritz and its valley (Engadine) is the point where three cultures meet; German, Italian and Rumantsch (one of the oldest European languages). The legendary "champagne climate", the glamorous international guests and outstanding tourist services of St. Moritz promise a delightful and memorable excursion.
This is the last of the Gothic Cathedrals built in Lombardy, started in 1396, ten years after the starting of Milan's Cathedral and finished in 1744. The facade is the work of Rodari. Beside the Cathedral is the Broletto, a 13th century construction that was the ancient seat of the council, with its civic tower.
Behind Como's Cathedral is the Piazza Verdi where one can admire a modern building by Terragni, considered to be a fine example of Italian Rationalist Architecture.
Situated in the region of Lombardy, this is one of the oldest and most beautiful towns in the north of Italy, dating back to the Middle Ages.
