- The rental station will pre-authorize or charge an amount on the driver’s card as a security deposit.

- The deposit will be fully released/refunded at the end of the rental, provided no additional charges apply.

- Refund processing may take up to 14 business days, depending on the card-issuing bank.

- The deposit amount varies according to the vehicle category.

 

Payment Methods

- Rental must be prepaid.

- A credit card is required as a guarantee, even if payment is made in cash.

- Accepted cards: Visa and Mastercard.

Age Restrictions

Minimum driver age: 19 years old for vehicle categories A, B, C, D, GM, and GM3.

A young driver surcharge of €10/day applies (available at selected stations).

 

For all other vehicle categories:

Minimum age: 23 years old (no additional charge).

Available across the Avance rental network.

Maximum driver age: 75 years old.

 

Driving License Requirements

- A valid driving license must be presented in physical form.

- The license must have been issued at least 1 year prior to the rental start date.

- The license must be valid for driving in Greece and the EU.

- For non-EU citizens:

A valid license accepted in Greece and the European Union is required.

If not applicable, an International Driving Permit (IDP) must be presented together with the original national driving license.

 

Rental Terms & Conditions

 

Fuel Policy

- The vehicle must be returned with the same fuel level as at collection.

- If returned with less fuel, the renter will be charged for the difference.

- No refund is provided for excess fuel.

- Vehicles are supplied with a minimum fuel level of approximately ¼ of the tank.

 

Accidents

In case of an accident, an administration fee of €30 + VAT will apply for processing the accident file.

 

Vehicle Replacement

If vehicle replacement is required:

Up to 24 hours may be needed for mainland locations.

Up to 72 hours may be required for other areas within Greece.

Driving outside the official road network is prohibited.

 

Traffic Fines & Violations

- All traffic tickets and fines resulting from Highway Code violations are the responsibility of the renter.

- Additional administration fees may apply: Maximum charge: €30 + VAT (depending on location).

 

Ferry & International Travel Restrictions

 

Ferry Travel

Transporting the rental vehicle by ferry is permitted only with prior written approval from the rental company.
