Offenburg, the picturesque gateway to the Black Forest, is a hotspot for culture and shopping. To the east of the city, vineyards extend all the way up to the edges of the Black Forest. Riesling and Pinot noir are two of the finest famous grapes grown here. The wines are tasted and enjoyed in cosy inns, snug seasonal wine taverns and first-class eateries. From the vineyards, the view extends towards the west, over into the neighbouring region of Alsace. There, on the horizon, is the towering silhouette of Strasbourg cathedral.

Strasbourg is only a 30-minute journey away. There, take a leisurely stroll along the banks of the river Ill and follow the canals. Immerse yourself in a world of shopping with a good dose of French "Savoir vivre". Walk through peaceful parks or bustling marketplaces. The whole city centre has been designated an architectural world heritage site by UNESCO. The outstanding Cathédrale Notre-Dame is over 1,000 years old and is a masterpiece of Gothic art.

The hotel's main restaurant highlights the complex's innovative design, comprised of two free-standing cell buildings, connected by a glass box spanning the former prison courtyard. The lounge, restaurant, open grill and bar combine to form a sprawling, sleek development, featuring trendy sandstone walls and plush furnishings throughout. The menu boasts both local and regional delicacies, while the open grill brims with cosiness from a blazing flame, a unique place where guests can watch chefs prepare dishes before their very eyes.

The hotel's adventurous bar is the ideal place to kick back with clear and dark spirits alongside other indulgences - fruit brandies from Baden, rum, whisky and plenty of other specialities. One of the hotel's most recent highlights is the introduction of access to pristine wellness facilities. Located merely a 2-minute walk from the hotel, during their stay, guests will enjoy free use of the brand-new Stegermatt Leisure and Wellness Pool, for a whopping three hours!

It's as simple as this. At the pool's reception, show your room key and cover jacket and you will enjoy complimentary access to an extensive spa and bathing area for three hours. From the different saunas to the steam grotto, the magical halotherapy room, and the five sprawling swimming pools, this is sure to be one of the greatest memories of your stay. For an additional fee, guests may even opt to book indulgent massage treatments. Hotel guests will be provided with a towel by the leisure pool and bathrobes can be brought along from the hotel to ensure our members feel totally comfortable throughout their experience.

How to get there: For members not intending on flying from London airports to Strasbourg, there are various alternative ways to get to Offenburg.

By Train: It really couldn't be easier - after alighting in Offenburg and exiting the station on the left via the main entrance (towards the city centre), follow the main road for a good kilometre. You then turn left just after the end of the pedestrian area towards the Grabenallee and follow this road for around 250 metres.

By Flight: The Baden Airpark near Karlsruhe is around 35 minutes' drive from Offenburg (from the airport, take the A5 towards Freiburg). Basel/Mulhouse airport is around 60 minutes away from the hotel (take the A5 from the airport towards Freiburg / Karlsruhe). Strasbourg airport is around 35 minutes' drive from the hotel (from the airport, take the B28 towards Offenburg).
